Stayed here in August for 4 nights, on arrival the guy at reception told us we had been upgraded to a room with a terrace, this was a welcome surprise and it turned out to be very nice. The hotel is family run, it is a fair size for a back street hotel with a nice bar and large breakfast... More

5 minutes from the Water Taxi and Vaporetto drop off and 7 mins from St Marks Square. Very convenient location. Small, family run hotel. Pleasant, helpful Staff. Large clean room. Breakfast, in our opinion, was good. Help yourself Continental Buffet which meant we never went out feeling hungry. Plenty of restaurants on the doorstep. Plenty of shops on the way... More

The hotel is ideally located and the street noise is bearable with ear plugs. Very old-fashioned rooms and WIFI is not usable in many rooms. Almost no foreign channels, although it says satellite TV. The staff is nice and rooms are very clean. Prices are good for this location and Venice. Breakfast is a big joke to be honest. Coffee... More

The location is perfect. Away from the really busy areas but in an area close to all main attractions and with ample services n shops right next door. This is a family owned hotel and it shows. Got a nice personal touch to it all and older generations are always about greeting guests. The bedrooms and bathrooms are basic but... More

Found the hotel via Trivago and was very pleased with the choice. Having established which boat-taxi stop to get off, I was amazed at just how easy it was to find the hotel. Literally about 100 yards from the Grand Canal and just a few minutes walk to St Marks Square. The hotel is family run and they are very... More

Location: Excellent location close to St Marks square. Travelling with luggage can be very problematic in a place like Venice which is known for its canals and bridges. However since this hotel is located very close to the water bus stop St Zaccaria, this was not an issue for us. Staff: Very friendly staff. Helped us with all information about... More

If you stay in Venice, Hotel Fontana is your place to rest! It has a great location coupled with great hospitality and support of the family who run it. We have stayed there twice, and with no doubt, will stay there again when we go back to beautiful Venice. The elevator is a also a plus for those who have... More

We've booked Fontana for a 2 nights' stay pre-cruise, mainly because its location on the Alilaguna Blue Line and its affordable price. Turns out it was a brilliant choice. From the airport directly to the S. Zaccaria stop, and then, we simply couldn't believe it, 3 min walk to the hotel, no steps and no bridges to cross. This hotel... More

Agonized over where to stay while in Venice as part of our 2-week 30th Wedding Anniversary trip to Italy. Considered everything from b&b, vrbo, to 5-star hotels and finally settled on this...What a gem! Quaint & charming. A/C (self regulated), elevator, and complimentary continental breakfast. Room was plenty of space for us as a travelling couple (but who's going to... More
