We stayed at the hotel for two nights. Room and bathroom is small but cozy. Front desk staff was really helpful. This hotel is very close to the city centre (about 5-10min walk). Breakfast is also decent but not the greatest we have had in Italy.

We were encouraged to stay on the island to get the feel for Venice. We were lucky to grab a room here for one night, relatively affordable, close to activities and sufficient to park ourselves for a night as we wondered out. The hotel is small and located directly on a canal, where gondola rides are offered daily. Also, the... More

We were in room #302 on the top floor. Nice room, with sufficient space. We had a wardrobe and a TV with a couple of English speaking news shows. Bathroom was modern and clean. There is a lift that we only used coming and going with the luggage. We had two windows overlooking a small canal. Across the canal was... More

You can't beat the location of this property, it's perfect and close to everything you need. The room was very nice, clean had everything you need for a good stay. It surprisingly didn't have that damp smell like other Venice hotels can have. The breakfast is pretty good with selection of cheese, breads, pastries, cereal, yogurt, coffee, tea, juice and... More

A charming hotel only 5 minutes walk from the San Marco ferry stop, and only one small bridge to navigate with those suitcases over. Easy, quick ferry trip to return to the station. Very close to Saint Marks Square and Doges Palace, and an easy walk to Rialto Bridge and other key places of interests. A gondola stop just outside... More

We stayed here for three nights. It is a gem. It is close to San Marco, wonderful shopping and many excellent restaurants. The staff is genuinely interested in your stay. We stayed in # 301 which is called a junior suite. For Europe, the room was quite large as well as was the bath. The best feature is a walk... More

Hotel Violino d'Oro is a wonderful hotel, located right next to Piazza San Marco. The staff is very helpful and positive. We have stayed in the junior suite and it was excellent. It has a large balcony shared with only one other room, in our case the room was empty so it was only us. Breakfast was all right, though... More

Great location, close to the square, but Venice is so small, you are never really far from anything no matter where you stay. From the train station catch the water ferry line # 1 to the Saint Marco stop and its a 5 min walk to the hotel from there. Breakfast was good and the room was clean. AC didn't... More

This was our second visit to this hotel, to make a one night stop, prior to boarding a cruise ship from the port of Venice. On our first visit to this hotel, a couple of years previously, our room nicely overlooked a canal with a gondola station below. It was entertaining to watch the many tourists set off on their...
