It has a very good location and that is it, the rest is all average. The shower box is very small, more or less 60x60, you feel as you are inside a coffin. Despite been in a very good location, I am not sure if it is worth as you will walk everywhere anyway and this is not close to... More

Good hotel and pleasant staff.Room was a bit small, but it doesn't matter for you are in venice and you have to be out.Breakfast was quite a surprise, for we weren't expecting much but it turns out they have a decent spread.Don't miss they honeycomb-kept in the corner.Still reminds me of it.Fruits and spread was fresh and tasty. Will definitely recommend... The location is the best. Just a few minutes from Piazza San Marco, but right in the quieter little piazza at San Moise Church. In the opposite direction are the trendy shops like Gucci and Versace, but also those typical nice small shops with leather goods, Murano glass, fine clothing. There are a number of just right restaurants a few... More

Clean with good wi-fi and right on a canal. The breakfast was decent and there were plenty of eateries close by. The staff were all pleasant and courteous, very helpful to answer any questions. The TV stations were somewhat limited but we expected as much.

Only two streets back from the main square easy to find for Venice. Room was large by Venice hotel standards. The singing gondoliers was a pleasant surprise outside the window. Good value for money considering the location.

Booked this lovely hotel about a year in advance after spending many hours searching through reviews of the many hotels in Venice. Couldn't really have been happier. I was clean and comfortable, had friendly staff and the breakfast was excellent. I had emailed in advance explaining the trip was to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday and had requested a room... Great Location in the heart of Venice. Very, very clean large room (208). Beautiful breakfast. Water taxi stop maybe 200' away. Gondolas outside front door. Surprisingly quietly at night. Would definitely go back if I were lucky enough to return to Venice.

Situated centrally which was great as everything seemed so close (providing you don't get lost amongst the side streets). Conveniently placed close to a gondola station, making it entertaining too, to hear the singing coming from the boats as they sailed by. A lovely, welcoming hotel with pleasant staff and rooms that are comfortable and clean. Great breakfast.

The location is fantastic, a quick walk to San Marco's Square at to the vaporetto stop. It's also a quick walk to Academia. The room was small, but clean and had a lot of natural light. The breakfast served downstairs was good with nice touches like honeycomb and prosecco.

On my reservation that I made there it indicated Double Dependence. I was not aware this meant annex, a separate building around the corner that was terrible. My wife can not walk up stairs easily, but the building has no elevator. When informed of this, the staff said there was nothing they could do as the were completely booked. They... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
