Hotel Violino d'Oro is located right on one of Venice's smaller canals, making for a quiet and beautiful location. Across the way is Versace and Bottega Venata, where if you can window shop or go inside and splurge! Gondoliers are outside your door. St. Mark's square is a two minute walk. My husband and I spent two nights at Violino d'Oro and really liked our room. We had a nice size room, great view of canal and bridge, really soundproof windows and it was cool and clean. I would recommend this hotel. We had room 301 which is appropriate for a family with two kids. The kids slept in pull-out arm chairs, which was fine for them. We also had a door to the terrace, which apparently was only for us after 8:30 pm. The terrace had chairs, loungers and small tables. Never saw anyone use it... more
