i was really impressed by viollino....only stayed for 3 nights in a double room..I can only say was perfect, no fault at all..There was also an offer at that time, so the staff welcomed us with a bottle of Prosecco and typical venetian biscuits, so perfect start...The breakfast it's also good..Location is again an extra, cause it's just off San... more

This hotel is a short walk from St. Mark's Square and a Vaporetto stop. There is a gondolla station just steps from the front door as well as high end shopping. The breakfast is great and is well-stocked for the duration. The rooms and the public areas are kept very clean and the entire hotel is non-smoking. I would definitely... more

This hotel is I believe standard in terms of size for most european hotels. It had a small bathroom (one person shower) which is what I saw everywhere when we went to italy. It was clean and the bathroom was pretty modern. The location was superb, you were right across the street from the main piazza. Also the staff was... more

We spent 2 nights in Venice through our tour of Italy. We choose the hotel because of its proximity to San Marco, and the excellent deal we got on the internet (from the hotel's website) and the reasonably good reviews. On arrival, it was a short walk from the water-bus stop. The directions were accurate. The room was small as... more

Hotel Violino d'Oro is in a great location. 2 blocks from St. Mark's square & vaporetto stop. Prada across the street, Versace next door! While shopping there was beyond our budget, it was great to see in person what I only ever see in Vogue. We received a free bottle of Proseco with our room when we checked into our... more

Hello, me and my boyfriend stayed here on the 6-9 Mar 09 on the first part of our Italy trip. I booked it mainly based on the reviews here on Tripadvisor and was not at all disappointed. As many others have said the location is great, literally 1 min to Piazza San Marco and the same to a vaparetto stop.... more

Located 1 minute from St. Mark's Square, you couldn't really ask for a better location in Venice unless you wanted to camp out in the Doge's Palace. Seriously, this hotel is so centrally located that you wonder why anyone would choose to stay anyplace else. Admittedly, though, the crowds pouring into this sestieri can be daunting, but the friendly staff,... more

We stayed here prior to a 21 day cruise. We were two couples with six major pieces of luggage plus carry ons. The water taxi landing was 50 yards away and across a bridge. Virtually the entire staff of the hotel came out in a rain storm and we were whisked into this charming vintage European Hotel. The charge was... more

This was a great little hotel in Venice which exceeded our expectations. It was in a fantastic location, just off St. Marks square and close to vaporetto stops as well, but at the same time in a quiet tucked away location. The people at the desk were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was an excellent continental spread and the rooms... more

This is a great little hotel, fabulously located and absolutely charming. The decor is a little dated but so is Venice! Clean rooms, modern bathrooms, super friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast. My son left his wallet behind and the staff arranged for another water taxi to deliver it to us at the airport...we were very impressed. Nothing was too... more
