It's hard to beat the location so near the shopping and major sites in Venice. Just be warned: there are a lot of stairs even to get to the reception area 9I had knee surgery 6 months earlier and did fine--the railings are sturdy) Tip: It's a five minute walk to the Rialto Bridge through very cool, narrow streets--or a... We just finished a very pleasant five days in Venice and stayed at this hotel for our entire stay. This is a small hotel and the service is personal and friendly. The staff was always so helpful to make sure our comfort was well taken care of and they were always willinng to recommend great places to eat or visit.... More

We stayed in the Annex part of the hotel which is right around the corner with a separate entrance. We never saw another person coming or going into the Annex, so it was like having out own private apartment. The hotel is just one block from San Marco's Square and was perfect for exploring everything. The room was extremely clean,... More

We stayed at Hotel Ai Do Mori a few years ago and decided to stay here again for two nights at the end of our trip. The hotel is just steps from San Marco's Square. The staff is very helpful. We stayed in Room 9 this time. It was very clean, had a bathroom in suite, was quiet, and had... More

We had hoped to get a room upstairs, but the hotel had to place us in a room with 3 beds (room 1) because of our 2 children (who brought sleeping bags and were fine with sleeping on the floor). We lost the view, but that was all because the room was clean and felt very authentic. The beds weren't... More

My fiance and I stayed here last summer in the Annex hotel which is detached from the main hotel. It felt like we were in our own apartment with the separate entrance and really liked the peace and quiet it offered. We had a double room with murphy bed that folded out from the wall. It was nice to have... More

From the train station, walk 25 steps down to the Canale Grande, get on the Vaporreto, and cruise entire length of the canal, get off at Piazza san Marco, walk across the piazza, and a few steps past the clock you are at Hotel ai do Mori in the center of everything. We stayed in their smallest room located on... More

Absolutely one of my favorites now. We had room 6 on the fourth floor, with beamed ceilings, windows on two sides, a private bath; small but clean and comfortable. Just around the corner from St. Mark's Square and the Grand Canal. Staff was helpful and pleasant. Stairs are steep, no lift. We are in our 60s and it wasn't a... More

This would have to be one of the best locations in Venice just around the corner literally from St.Marks square. Staff friendly and helpful. As a senior person I found the stairs a challenge and to get better wifi had to go up another storey to my daughter's room. When checking out owner told me that there were easier rooms to... More

Our room was clean and comfortable and staff were kind enough to assist with our suitcases up the stairs. Staff were also welcoming and friendly :) It's in a great location and the views from the rooms are fantastic! We were in room 6, which had a lovely view of the bell tower and the tops of the basilica.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
