The hotel is in a great location, just a few minutes walk from Piazza San Marco. The rooms are comfortable, the staff friendly and the restaurant (10% reduction for hotel guests) was absolutely superb. I will certainly stay there again. more

This hotel is exactly as advertised. Typical Venetian decor in their clean and modern rooms. We had a window that overlooked the canal and could hear the gondoliers singing as they passed by. We had a little trouble finding the hotel at first but Venice in general is difficult to navigate. It's a short walk to San Marco Square or... more

Stayed here May 2009. Awesome hotel! Hotel Gambero is in a prime spot, located between the Rinalto Bridge and Piazza San Marco. We also got a sweet deal on the price (breakfast included). Free WiFi access available in all the rooms. Charming, spotless rooms with marble bathrooms, plus hot running water with good water pressure. English-speaking reception staff are friendly... more

I recently had the pleasure to stay at this delightful family run hotel in a superb location between Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge. It is far enough away from San Marco to be in a nice quiet location, yet near enough to be extremely convenient. The room was great, actually the most spacious of the three star hotels... more

We've been in Venice (al Gambero) during the carnival in Feb. 2009. The location is between the St Marco Square and Rialto Bridge. It's really handy if you'd like to have fun at evening/night. The interior design of the room is venezian style (small, warm feeling, good service) The breackfast is poor, if you compare to other places to venice.... more

This hotel is perfectly located right off St. Mark's square and not far from the Rialto waterbus stop. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Provided great recommendations for off the beaten track restaurants and pizzarias. The restaurant with the hotel is very good though pricey. Got a great nightly rate from venere.com. more

Venice is AWESOME! This was a nice hotel in a great location. It was close to all the shopping, restaurants, and San Marcos square. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was small, but I'm sure all hotels in Venice are since it's a small town. We highly recommend getting a room with a view of the canal. It... more

A delightful place to stay. We usually book for 8 days due to the many sights and attractions. Venice is like living in a mirage of splendor and great beauty. The hotel is at the most ideal location and a breeze to reach without going over bridges with luggage when arriving from P. Roma via bus or train station by... more

What a lovely little hotel, only returned back from Venice Sat 15th Nov 08 and had to write a review on this hotel. Conveniently located to both the Rialto Bridge and San Marco Square. A fantastic location to start off one of your numerous hikes across the city....Be warned, though, after a long days hike the only disappointing thing about... more

The hotel is very well placed in Venice for exploring the narrow streets and the wide piazzas. It's so close to San Marco and very easy to find from there. We arrived at night on the vapparetto from the airport and the walk across San Marco and into a narrow street and over the bridges to the hotel was magical.... more
