My partner and I spent 3 nights in one of the Classic Double Rooms. We found the place clean, tidy and quite fine to base ourselves in while we saw the city. Venice is quite expensive and, for the price, the stay was good. We stayed during a very very hot period and the room was a bit uncomfortable the... More

Nice hotel, but i thought it would be much better tbh! They had small rooms and narrow stairs, we just went there at night to sleep and didnt spend time at the hotel,it was the first time we go to Venice, which is a great city with amazing restaurants specially the expensive ones, would like to go back there soon, we stayed... The location of this hotel is excellent however the room we had wasn't what we expected as it had no toilet or TV or air conditioning and it was very hot therefore we had to sleep with the window open which meant the mosquitos came in and bit us. You have to pay for the wifi. The female reception staff... More

mcdonalds with airconditioner must be better to stay. The room has a pretty interior but thats absolutly the only good part about the hotel. If you are planning to stay here, this hotel certainly will ruin your experience of Venice. I advice you from my heart. Find somewhere else.

I stayed two nights in the hotel with a last minute booking and to be honest I was pleased with the room and their service. Rooms look great for a two star hotel and I even received a balcony room. The view was not the best but you can't really have the best from everything. They have a computer for... More

Had the option to stay off Venice (mainland) or on Venice, and finally found this place which was in my budget. So glad I stayed on Venice, had a great time in Venice and this hotel was a great base to explore from. The room is pretty old, but not a problem at all. Great experience.

The first room we got was on the third floor. The elevator goes only till the second. The room was tiny and the bed was small. No fan and no ac. You can't open the window otherwise it stinks. We moved to a another room. We had to pay extra for upgrade. Here too if you switch off the ac... More

I have been standing at the front desk of this hotel for over thirty minutes trying to check in. I have finally tracked down the receptionist and ask for help, only to be told no. Things aren't looking good.

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback on Tripadvisor. We apologize for the inconvenience but as explained by the reception that night upon your arrival (10pm,) we were in a situation of emergency since our night porter was busy releasing another our client that was stuck in the elevator. All this has not... More

I was going to put photos of my room online to show what unsuspecting solo travellers especially would get at an extortionate rate: a nasty, tiny, noisy room with organic stains all over the place, chipped , cracked and dirty walls....I have stayed in third world hotels at one tenth of the price which were much nicer. The furnishing on... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
