We arrived at the hotel with freezing weather in the middle of the New Year's Eve night, with my husband and my 6, 5 and 2 year old kids. The receptionist was really slow, he asked for 100 papers and then told us the kids should wait outside if they touched the Christmas tree!!!! They are really well behaved! Really... More

The previous reviews don't seem to take into consideration that this is obviously a budget hotel. Everything is pretty small and there are no luxuries but what do you expect at this price? It's more for travellers looking for a basic place to sleep and leave their stuff in whilst they go out and explore the city. It's quite hidden... More

We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel. The room was lovely and clean, and the en suite bathroom very well kept. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The food here was lovely, and well priced. Would definitely recommend.

I was pleasantly surprised with our stay at Alla Salute Hotel. It is only a 2 star hotel, but we did have a room with our own bathroom, basic, but clean and quiet / private. The stuff was very pleasant and friendly and breakfast (very tasty) was included in the price of our stay. The location was great (in a... More

I rate it to terrible, considering my fisrt reservation (since we level up our room next morning). Florencia (at the reception) was the one to save the big damage, Asim was terrible and roude. Dont go

Me and my partner went to Venice during the carnival and stayed at Hotel Alla Salute for two nights. We were extremely disappointed at the condition of our standard double room. There was A LOT of damage to the room and it was poorly furnished i.e the bed was like a camp bed! We were only provided with hand towels... More

My parents stayed there for two nights and it was really nice. The bathroom was recently renewed and breakfast was abundant. The bed was also really comfortable and the staff was very cordial. Very good place if you are traveling on a budget.

This was a great hotel. So central with a nice restaurant practically next door. If I ever return to Venice I would stay in this hotel.Spacious 3 bed room with 2 lovely bathrooms for a girly break and we all loved it. And the price was amazing.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
