The Hotel alla Salute, including the Salute Palace, is situated on a scenic canal in eastern Dorsodoro, halfway between Academia bridge and museum and the Santa Maria della Salute church. Also nearby is the Punta della Dogana and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. It is a location with convenient access to vaporetti, sites, restaurants and shops. You will be welcomed by... More

Was cheap but nasty. Tiny rooms 3 flights up.lift only to first floor. No fans or a/c. $5.00 euro per night for a small fan. Rooms smaller than on our cruiseship. Could barely move around bed. No cupboards in room. Only 1 towel in room and asked twice for another. Didnt get one till next morning.breakfast was extra 6 euro... More

I have been coming to Venice for years and the truth is - it is quite expensive for mediocre accomodation. So when you find a reasonably priced hotel in a great location and at this price point don't expect too much. First off, like many of the older hotels the rooms can be quite small and lacking in what many... More

This is the most pathetic hotel where i have stayed ever in my life. This ruined my entire experience of this city. First they did not tell that wifi isnt free here. In the room is a tiny one and stinky with a miniscule bathroom. The bathroom lock doesnt work. Even after complaining no one came to repair it. There... More

Our hotel is equipped with different kind of rooms: size and services offered, as the air conditioning, depend on the room type chosen. Regarding the WiFi connection, it’s provided for free only in case of reservations managed directly through... More

My partner and I spent 3 nights in one of the Classic Double Rooms. We found the place clean, tidy and quite fine to base ourselves in while we saw the city. Venice is quite expensive and, for the price, the stay was good. We stayed during a very very hot period and the room was a bit uncomfortable the... More

Nice hotel, but i thought it would be much better tbh! They had small rooms and narrow stairs, we just went there at night to sleep and didnt spend time at the hotel,it was the first time we go to Venice, which is a great city with amazing restaurants specially the expensive ones, would like to go back there soon, we stayed... The location of this hotel is excellent however the room we had wasn't what we expected as it had no toilet or TV or air conditioning and it was very hot therefore we had to sleep with the window open which meant the mosquitos came in and bit us. You have to pay for the wifi. The female reception staff... More

mcdonalds with airconditioner must be better to stay. The room has a pretty interior but thats absolutly the only good part about the hotel. If you are planning to stay here, this hotel certainly will ruin your experience of Venice. I advice you from my heart. Find somewhere else.

Dear Guest, we are deeply concerned that your stay in our hotel didn’t meet your expectations. I read you review, unfortunately I can’t understand if it can be accounted for a hotel’s fault. I cannot consider really polite to define an hotel using sentences like “mcdonalds with airconditioner must be better to stay”. If you had complained, our front desk... More

I stayed two nights in the hotel with a last minute booking and to be honest I was pleased with the room and their service. Rooms look great for a two star hotel and I even received a balcony room. The view was not the best but you can't really have the best from everything. They have a computer for... More

Had the option to stay off Venice (mainland) or on Venice, and finally found this place which was in my budget. So glad I stayed on Venice, had a great time in Venice and this hotel was a great base to explore from. The room is pretty old, but not a problem at all. Great experience.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
