Good situated hotel, many well-known places is near this hotel. Room was very clean, staff really friendly and helpful. I really liked breakfast, it was tasty and full. The price was the best in whole Italy where we had stayed, for one night we paid 33€

This is a zero star hotel - Will not recommend this hotel, we made and paid for this booking with the travel agent in August 2015, we booked 4 doubles and 1 Triple, all of us where put in a cold outbuilding with another Indian family. Other guests that arrived after us were given rooms in the main building. some... More

The hotel is located in one of the best neighborhood of Venice, everything is in walking distance. For the price is acceptable but do not expect any luxury whatsoever. We didn't like that they were in the middle of remodeling and everything seem dirty, the contractors started working early and were loud. Also, our room was in another building connected... More

We chose this hotel for a school trip with a group of pupils aged 13. The rooms were small for 3/4 people in each room, very dirty and old fashioned. One of the rooms didn't even have heating. The location is really nice and the price is cheap but you need to expect accomodation similar to a hostel more than... More

I went with university for 5 days and although the location is OK, the hotel staff were unfriendly and barley spoke English. I was very ill on our first night so had to stay in for the day and I needed extra pillows and toiletries. "Shop closed. No thing until tonight." They were not helpful or obliging in the slightest.... More

The hotel is situated perfectly. It is very close to all the main sights in Venice. St. Marks square is in walking distance, maybe 15 minutes. If you decide to visit Venice and stay in this hotel you will not need to use public transport as you can get anywhere on foot. The hotel looks good , it is in... More

After reading the trip advisor reviews of old I was really worried about the stay at Hotel Alla Salute. However the stay was very good, the room was clean and tidy, beds were comfortable. Bathroom was really nice. Breakfast was basic but ok, just as expected. Don't expect luxury, however this is a sweet (and clean) little hotel to stay... More

Reception area looks very pleasant. However receptionist was very rude. Room was extremely small you could hardly move. Smelled very damp. Bed rock hard. Breakfast was also very poor. Wont recommend this hotel

I visited this hotel for three nights with a school group booked through Varsity travel. Whilst the lobby area is attractive that is about it unless you manage to get one of the refurbished rooms. The rooms issued to us had mould on the walls, mouldy silicon in the bathrooms, peeling bath tubs, missing tiles, water running down the wall... More

The 2 stars is a bit of an exaggeration, came with friends, got put in a room for 2 max with 3 others, the room and bathroom had bare minimum. Got transferred to another room because of lack of space. This one was leaking from the ceiling onto the curtain holder and splashing all over the bed, also had a... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
