I spent 4 nights at this hotel with my husband and our 1 year old son. The location is perfect, close to everything. Staff was very nice, especially the ladies who served the breakfast. Room was clean. There wasn't a blanket, you have to use a throw with a sheet instead. I didn't really like that. No lift, had to... More

The hotel is excellently located - within walking distance of the major sights in Venice. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was surprisingly big and spotlessly clean with sheets and towels changed daily. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit!

Arrived quite late, and struggled to find the hotel (our fault, not the hotels). However, the reception at the hotel was warm and very polite and friendly. With a room on the 3rd floor, and no lift, it is a little bit of a challenge if you have the kitchen sink in your big case!! However, for most normal people,... More

Superb hotel with affordable price. Right in the centre of Venice, just few minutes away from Rialto Bridge. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good English and has good knowledge of the city. Clean room and toilet. We were on the first floor and it was quiet. Would recommend it to all my friends.

The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Vaporetto pier (Rialto) and close to San Marco and all the other main sightseeing places. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful with enough choice to satisfy most people. The room and bathroom were roomy and very clean, although the bed was a little hard for... More

Couldn't find the place for a while. Rude staff upon arrival. He just took us up to the room. Signed a few random waivers. No help from reception. The wifi was horrendous. The room was large but too hot. The toilet was broken. The breakfast was ok. We wwre here for Christmas. The staff acted like any other day. Probably... More

The staff at the hotel were nice and helpful and the room was fine for what we paid. There where a few negatives though, the hotel was very hot, we had to have the windows open most of the time. The Internet was very poor, good enough to look up directions but not to Skype. And the bar next door... More

Fairly easy to find close to Rialto Bridge on north side of Grand Canal. Arrived well before check in time but willing to store case - however as these arrangements were being made the room became available. Only downside is there is no lift if you can't manage many stairs, we were on the top floor (4th) which was a... More

Hotel staff were extremely helpful, spoke good english. Hotel is above a very good restaurant, popular with the locals. Location very central. Room small but not by Venice standards! Ask staff to email schematic for getting to hotel, otherwise may be hard to find.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
