Firstly I think worth pointing out that we booked this through Anoma.com. Best advice, DON'T!! I made a mistake and booked a double bed instead of two singles - as I was going with my daughter it had to be changed. Anoma didn't want to help and even 'lied' like hairy eggs claiming to have contacted the hotel on my... More

The hotel is a good value, remember it's 2 STAR. You are 2 minutes from the Rialto Bridge and Grand Canal, water transportation and Gondola's. 5 minutes from St.Saint Mark's Basilica, very close to the open market area, shops, a super market and restaurants. We found the hotel to be good base to explore Venice. The hotel has 4 floors,... More

Very well placed - near Rialto bridge. A little bit noisy - you can hear what's happend in the other rooms. Large room and large bathroom. Not very difficult to find. Don't expect at spectaculat views from the windows. Good enaught breakfast but no eggs or enything else cooked

I stayed there 4 nights and i have a couple of things to say : 1. The breakfast is probably the poorest i've ever seen in a 2-star hotel. There was simply nothing good to eat : the food was industrial and the orange juice was a concentrated one. I decided to avoid breakfast as i was enable to eat... More

Our room was located JUST above a local bar and I was quite afraid it was going to be loud and rowdy since we stayed over the weekend. To my surprise it actually wasn't too bad. This hotel features large bathrooms and a fantastic breakfast. It took us a little while to find it since it's tucked away in the... More

Little hotel quite hidden in the small venetian alleys. Enough to sleep without further confort but, acceptable because the location is perfect. Anyway, if you get too many drinks in Plaza San Marco you d better check well your way back to Bartolomeo or you can finish in the train station.

First and foremost, be prepared to carry all of your luggage up the stairs of this hotel since there is no elevator. Our room was clean and modest. The water in the shower heats up quickly and the pressure was fabulous. The shower gets an A+! We took a water taxi because we arrived at San Marco in the wee... More

Fantastic location only a short walk to the rialto bridge and 10 mins walk from st marks sq. Small functional room with everything you need. If your a light sleeper request to not be in floor 1 as the bar below can be noisy( closes at 12pm) and the breakfast area being set up at 8am can be noisy. That... More

This was a great hotel to stay in Venice, only a couple of minutes from the rialto bridge, thus an easy place to grab a boat to any where else around Venice. It was a bit fiddly trying to find the place as it's down some windy little lanes (as with most of Venice) so it's advisable to take some... More

pretty close to the st. mark's square .. loved the location - close to Realto bridge and the gondola rides :) - the breakfast spread is decent and satisfying - only trouble was the lack of cross ventilation - only one window in the room and no other outlet. the bar downstairs cold be a bit noisy, but they quieten... Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
