Our room was located JUST above a local bar and I was quite afraid it was going to be loud and rowdy since we stayed over the weekend. To my surprise it actually wasn't too bad. This hotel features large bathrooms and a fantastic breakfast. It took us a little while to find it since it's tucked away in the... More

Little hotel quite hidden in the small venetian alleys. Enough to sleep without further confort but, acceptable because the location is perfect. Anyway, if you get too many drinks in Plaza San Marco you d better check well your way back to Bartolomeo or you can finish in the train station.

First and foremost, be prepared to carry all of your luggage up the stairs of this hotel since there is no elevator. Our room was clean and modest. The water in the shower heats up quickly and the pressure was fabulous. The shower gets an A+! We took a water taxi because we arrived at San Marco in the wee... More

Fantastic location only a short walk to the rialto bridge and 10 mins walk from st marks sq. Small functional room with everything you need. If your a light sleeper request to not be in floor 1 as the bar below can be noisy( closes at 12pm) and the breakfast area being set up at 8am can be noisy. That... More

This was a great hotel to stay in Venice, only a couple of minutes from the rialto bridge, thus an easy place to grab a boat to any where else around Venice. It was a bit fiddly trying to find the place as it's down some windy little lanes (as with most of Venice) so it's advisable to take some... More

pretty close to the st. mark's square .. loved the location - close to Realto bridge and the gondola rides :) - the breakfast spread is decent and satisfying - only trouble was the lack of cross ventilation - only one window in the room and no other outlet. the bar downstairs cold be a bit noisy, but they quieten... The room cleaning is very good and so was the breakfast but some things stood out for me: the blankets were a bit old and didn't look ok, The AC was broken The Wi-Fi although advertised, was not free and rather pricey

Chose this hotel for the superb location within a budget. Great choice!! Very close to the Rialto bridge and you can see a canal fro your window. Good attentive staff, easy process to check in and out. You can leave your luggage after the check out time at the reception. The only down of the hotel : The breakfast room... More

We stayed for 2 nights at the hotel. The location of the hotel was great but the room wasn't very clean and well-maintained. The staff was rather helpful and the breakfast was decent. I think that it could be cheaper and the rooms more well decorated.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
