We stayed here from 31st Aug till 2nd Sept (2 nights) and paid 135 euros for each night. For that price I would definitely have got a lot more elsewhere were it not have been for the location which is the only good thing about this place. Hotel is just around the corner from St Mark's Square The not so... More

I've been in this Hotel last year with my family. Good staff and position, near Venice's attractions. The bathroom was a little bit small but the room was big enough, especially for three people. During the night is noisy because is close to the center. Wi-Fi free. Good price/quality.

Excellent Location, slightly tired yet comfortable & romantic room - adding to the atmosphere of Venice. We were fortunate to be allocated the room with the roof top terrace - perfect for drinking prosecco whilst watching the sunset over the city! Breakfast was buffet style with excellent choice of cereals, fruit, hot food & pastries/bread. All in all a fabulous... More

My wife booked this trip to Venice as a surprise for my birthday. The hotel is small and looks a little tired it is only a 3 star and other nearby hotels are mainly 4 star which are considerably more expensive, however all of the staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel itself is very clean. The location could... More

Because of its great location right at St Marco, this hotel truly gets away with murder! It's obvious that the owners have not spent a penny in its hardware for at least 3 or 4 decades...and frankly why should they!!! They're running a very high occupancy at rather exhorbitant rates (for what it is) and they will continue to do... More

For our three night stay in Venice we could not have chosen better. The hotel is nice (bit oldfashion but why not!), Wi-Fi is available only at the reception (which means we could really relax without any distraction) and the location is unbeatable, just a few seconds from San Marco. Venice is phenomenal and we surely want to visit is... More

We had a family room on the first floor. There was plenty of space bearing in mind the hotel's location in the historic city centre. Furnishing were old but functional and clean. 1980's aircon worked surprisingly well (and quietly) during the 36c heat outside. The breakfast room was better than the rest of the hotel and exceeded my expectations. Whilst... More

I'm writing this as this was a stay due to being locked out of our other hotel! No research was done it was a case of here or the corridor of our other hotel! However, the man on reception could not have been more helpful (I am afraid I cannot remember his name)! He had one room left, he found... More

Only the location of the hotel was good. The rest of the hotel was poor. No WiFi in room. Even hotel lobby had very weak WiFi. And the hotel location had virtually no data or call coverage for TIM. Once we stepped into the hotel we basically lost connection to the Internet. In the room there was only 1 power... More

The location of this hotel is prime, just a short stroll to everywhere you want to be in Venice and that is why you go to Venice [not to hang out in your hotel room or the hotel lobby]. A very convenient walking location to/from the vaporetto to/from the train station [if you take line 1, line 2 drops you... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
