This hotel was a ridiculous amount of money for a crap hotel. They made the reservation out to have us think it was $170 per night and then charged us $340 per night. The beds were terrible and the pillows were bricks. Would not recommend this to anyone.

I stayed at this hotel on my visit to Venice. The hotel is ideally located, being around the corner from St. Mark's Square and making for easy access to the Vaporettos and main areas. I had a single room, which was alright for the days that I spent but was in need of a touch up particularly for the amount... More

That is what this hotel is all about. The location is perfect, within a couple of minutes of St Marks Square and the water taxi stop made this the perfect place for our stay in Venice. The room was comfortable with a fridge and safe and en suite. All what you would require for a weekend break. We did have... More

The staff were helpful and very friendly. My room was on the top floor had everything I required, the bed being very comfortable it was clean & very quiet. 5 minutes from St. Marks Square made accessing the water buses a breeze. If you dont want to walk to far there are plenty of restaurants nearby. I loved St. Marks... More

Just a couple of streets away from St Marks Square, the hotel was well presented with friendly and helpful staff. It provided us with a great base to explore from, as well as a good breakfast to get us going. We visited in February and the room was warm and cosy. The room was comfortable and well equipped.

Prior to staying at this hotel I read mixed reviews on TripAdvisor. Due to it's great location and reasonable cost I decided it was worth trying. Now, after staying at the hotel for 4 nights I found nothing to complain about. Everything was very clean, beds very comfortable and the continental breakfast was more than adequate. Choice of hot drinks... More

I have visited Venice on several ocassions. I normally stay close to Rialto bridge. On this particular vacation I was traveling with a party of 7 including people over 80 years old. I needed a hotel that was close to St. Marks Square and a water taxi bus stop. Short walking distances were important. The Casanova satisfied our requirements. The... More

Went there in Sept. 14. The third floor smelled like there was a dead body somewhere. We had to sleep with the windows open and all the noise from outside didn't allow us to sleep. The one elevator broke on our last day and we had to carry the luggage down three tiny flights of stairs. The shower floor was... More

This hotel is close by St. Mark' s Square which is one of the sites that one would probably visit when they come to Venice. From the airport, the hotel can be reached through water bus to San Marco station and from there it would take at least less than 5 minutes slow walk. In terms of location this hotel... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
