My wife and I spent 5 nights here in June/July of 2014. When we checked in they didn't have our reservation in their 'system' which was a paper ledger on the desk. But we had our receipt from the online reservation. Since we were staying Sunday through Thursday they had open rooms so it was not a problem. The language... More

Firstly, we had bad impression even before we arrive at the hotel. We were charged extra on our booking by the hotel without any form of information until we find out and dispute the payment with the bank. Secondly, it was far from train station. Gotto take about 40 minutes bus ride to the Venice island. Thirdly, the neighborhood as... More

I have previously stayed at this hotel during May 2005 and found the accommodations good enough to return! Hubs and I stayed here during the end of May 2014 for two nights. We arrived at the Marco Polo airport and took the bus to the train station. From the train station we walked about 15 minutes to the entrance of... More

We had the room on the second floor facing the street. In the morning, about 5-6 am, the room sounded like it was next to the freeway. ROAR, ROAR, ROAR. The noise never let up. The owners were not accommodating whatsoever. Because the room was so noisy, we decided to leave after one night. We were supposed to stay two... More

I stayed here for 2 nights during the summer and had a horrible time with the management. The room was nice but the wifi never worked, either in the room or in the lobby. The management was rude and the buffet included was not included and they told me to my face it was an error and that I had... More

The Al Piccalo Hotel was ok for what we paid, our room was clean and the ensuite looked quite new.The staff didnt speak much english but were friendly enough. Breakfast was continental. We were quite happy for what we paid at this hotel for 2 nights, and would reccommend as long as you dont expect posh and are happy with basic, clean accommodation.

This place is one step above a dump. The people r nice and remember u when u come in. The shower IS not good, like another reviewer said, it's small and water goes everywhere! The walls r in desperate need of painting and the plugs above our head on the bed do not work on either side. Plus side, the... More

Firstly, no one speaks any english at this hostel, which is fine because you are in italy but it makes it very difficult when something goes wrong. I booked our reservation online 2 days before we arrived, but when we got there at midnight they didn't have our reservation, so the man just gave us 2 rooms and he took... More

Hotel Piccolo is a very simple hotel that is located near Mestre station. Only one bus (numero 6) takes you directly to Venice and back, but it is fairly far. The breakfast is not included, but at 4 Euros per person, it gets you going in the morning. The coffee is not too shabby. This hotel has little rooms and... More
