Hotel Orion was wonderful. This property shines with the helpfulness and professionalism of the staff; the cleanliness of the facility and location, just steps away from S. Marco. The only downside was lack of a lift; lots of narrow stairs.

I traveled with my husband 22nd-26th April, we could not fault this hotel at all, stayed in apartment 1 which is a little bit down from the hotel itself massive room, lots of storage, big bathroom and a fridge. Breakfast was really good set us up for the day. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. When I come back to... More

The Hotel Orion was a great venue for my stay in Venice. The hotel is in a brilliant location. Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was simple but more than adequate. Overall a good venue for a short stay in Venice.

No air conditioning in April and it gets hot in the rooms. You can open the windows for a strong breeze but get ready for noise since you're I'm town. Refrigerator was a plus. Cramped but nice bathroom. Lots of tight stairs to get to the rooms but the back courtyard is a nice place to relax between excursions. Breakfast... More

A good location is about all this hotel has going for it!! Our first impression was terrible the man that was at reception was so rude and not helpful at all. We requested twin bedding only to be told if we wanted twin bedding it would be an extra €80/night even though when we booked the room we looked at... More

Wonderful holiday!Really nice hotel. Friendly staff. Receptionist suggested a great pasta place to eat and it was amazing. We mentioned we were on our honeymoon and they gave a nice room on 5th floor. They don't have lifts but the receptionist took our bags up which was very nice given that we had a long journey. The room was amazing... More

We have had a wonderful time staying at the hotel Orion and will definitely stay there again. My partner was horribly ill while in Venice and we were so kindly treated that I am in awe of the staff at the Orion. Accommodation was comfortable, location perfect and soundproofing excellent. beautifully and carefully managed!

There are plenty of places to eat nearby but just walk into other areas and it will be cheaper and watch out for cover charge and12%... More

We spent 3 nights at Hotel Orion which we chose for its great location and good reviews. The hotel is small and tucked away in a little street just 2 mins from St Marks. It was spotlessly clean. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We have stayed in Venice before at bigger, and more expensive hotels but on... More

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. The plus is that is close to St Mark's square an it is quite easy to find. The room is quite small but clean. But it is very noisy. You can hear everything that your neighbours are talking or doing. They are practicaly in the same room with you. So if they wake up early so... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
