I had a small one bedroom with bathroom and shower. Bed was narrow but a decent length. The bathroom was small and cramped and shower was small. The owners were very pleasant and polite. The room was kept clean and the bed linen and towels were replaced daily.

Do not stay at this hotel if you are looking for luxes. However, if you are williing to find a place well located, clean, cosy and not very expensive, then this is the right place to be. The staff who welcomed us was very kind and we had everything we needed: two comfortable beds, towels and a clean bathhroom and... More

So very disappointing. This is the first hotel I have ever written a bad review about. The owner was incredibly rude, the rooms were dirty, the shower soaked the bathroom floor, the towels had holes in them and smelt bad, there was a curfew, the room was very buggy, it was very noisy allll night outside of our windows, and... The only good thing we can say about this hotel is that it has a decent location (once you locate it). Unfortunately during our stay, there was construction surrounding the hotel which meant loud noise and smell from the water. This is definitely a budget hotel - dated stale smelling and not kept up. We would not recommend.

This hotel has a good central location, clean rooms and a friendly owner. The only downsides was the price ( though the cheapest we could find at that time) and shared lavatory, which probably you can avoid by ordering a room that has one of it's own.

Venice is so costly. We booked this place quite at the last minutes and were happy with it. The room is clean and airy. The shared bathroom is clean also. The only guy working there, probably the owner, is helpful. The only cons is it is a bit tricky to find the location once you just arrive in Venice.

A little difficult to find relying on Google Maps but we got there in the end (in reality only 10-15 min "straight line" walk from Pzle Roma, 15 - 20 from Santa Lucia). Very friendly host who's english was great. Room was basic but very clean and tidy. Power points are sparse but then again the building was constructed before... More

Was difficult to find, but a little(and quiet) gem so near the centre. In the University area, so restaurants in the vicinity not too expensive The manager was extremely helpful and spoke 5 languages. Every room was spotlessly clean. We had our own bathroom, but also a shared one next door that nobody used. Breakfast; 2 bread rolls, butter, jam... More

A really clean hotel with very friendly service and very convenient location. Nothing was too much trouble for our host who spoke excellent English. If you want to get to know Venice without having to pay top prices, this is great.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
