This was our first time in Venice and the hotel was selected from the British Airways City Break site. I chose this as a surprise break for my wife and liked the look of the hotel which was originally an old merchants house. The location is excellent, by the side of one of the quieter canals but centrally located near... More

I went with my boyfriend in June and thought the place so good that it deserved me writing it a review many months later when i decided to join the site. I booked this place based on reviews and it's location. We arrived by water taxi (though expensive they can get you to right outside the place if it's your... More

Just returned from 3 nights in Venice with my boyfriend travelling with BA. Found the hotel easily after getting off the water taxi, it's just around the corner from the Leonardo da Vinci museum (which is a little disappointing) Great location, near Campo Margarita where there are lots of restaurants. You can walk to all the sights easily from this... More

Our first time in Venice and what a wonderful city it is, made all the more enjoyable by knowing that at the end of each day there was a warm welcome and a clean, comfortable room to come back to. Perfectly located with great restaurants and bars nearby but also easy walking distance to both the important sights and vaporetto... More

Got a great out-of-season price & were charmed by the hotel, room & location. Deliciously warm & comfy in a very cold Feb week! Clean, good bed, nice bathroom & hot water, plus very nice buffet breakfast with proper espresso coffee. Staff were always very cheerful & helpful. Will certainly come again.

I have stayed in a 5* hotel in Gothenburg and it had nowhere near the character and charm that Hotel Pausania has. I felt as though I was in a Wes Anderson movie. The staff were kind, helpful and pleasant. Get to the breakfast earlier rather than later if you can! The location is fantastic, a short hop by ACTV... More

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Hotel Pausania. Has a great location on a quiet canal, well positioned for walking to all the main sights. We noted other comments about a poor breakfast and you should treat them as accurate. We were so disappointed with breakfast on the first morning that we didn't bother for the next two... More

Delightful small hotel in a good location. Very easy to walk to most places, and near to vaporetto. Good choice of local restaurants. We found the strairs up to our room on third floor hard at times, but felt it was worth to to stay in a old palace. Nice to find a kettle and drinks in the room. Bathroom... More

What a find! Lovely hotel, beautiful chandeliers in the hotel. Very accessible to the Grand Canal. So authentic. Lovely restaurants and cafe nearby. Good helpful staff. Breakfast ok. Would definitely return.

This is a charming hotel in a great location for those who want to stay in a slightly quieter area of Venice. The rooms are of a good size and very clean but due to the age of the building the stairs are a little steep and on a slant! The hotel staff were very helpful during our stay and... More
