I have stayed in a 5* hotel in Gothenburg and it had nowhere near the character and charm that Hotel Pausania has. I felt as though I was in a Wes Anderson movie. The staff were kind, helpful and pleasant. Get to the breakfast earlier rather than later if you can! The location is fantastic, a short hop by ACTV... More

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Hotel Pausania. Has a great location on a quiet canal, well positioned for walking to all the main sights. We noted other comments about a poor breakfast and you should treat them as accurate. We were so disappointed with breakfast on the first morning that we didn't bother for the next two... More

Delightful small hotel in a good location. Very easy to walk to most places, and near to vaporetto. Good choice of local restaurants. We found the strairs up to our room on third floor hard at times, but felt it was worth to to stay in a old palace. Nice to find a kettle and drinks in the room. Bathroom... More

What a find! Lovely hotel, beautiful chandeliers in the hotel. Very accessible to the Grand Canal. So authentic. Lovely restaurants and cafe nearby. Good helpful staff. Breakfast ok. Would definitely return.

This is a charming hotel in a great location for those who want to stay in a slightly quieter area of Venice. The rooms are of a good size and very clean but due to the age of the building the stairs are a little steep and on a slant! The hotel staff were very helpful during our stay and... More

This is a very nice hotel with a fairly convenient location. You can walk to it from the train station but, of course you will be going over several bridges with your luggage. Otherwise, it is a very short walk to a vaporetto stop and a little further to the Accademia Bridge. The hotel is very nicely furnished, clean and... More

The hotel is located in the quiet area of Venice called Dorsoduro. There are lots of great restaurants a minutes walk away and a small square used in the filming of Indiana Jones, just at the end of the canal. There is great water bus links, as the nearest stop is just past the square. We stayed on the 1st... More

There were so many things about the Pausania to like that, added together, they form a wonderful whole: * The building has real character, the rooms are clean and warm. * The staff were always helpful and friendly. * It is well situated, ~10 minutes walk from the Accademia Bridge, 15 minutes from the Rialto and only ~200 m from... So glad we chose this place. Be warned about the stairs, but this is just part of the character of the building due to its age. Don't come here if you want shiny over-modern finishes. The entrance stone stairs winds up and then opens out into a pleasant sitting room. This larger communal area has a 1st floor balcony that... More

We loved this hotel. Friendly staff, helpful and informative. It's close to where we like to be and near a vapiretto stop. Breakfast buffet is plentiful and varied and staff are super helpful. We used to rent an appartment (for four years) and before that, other hotels, but this one is perfect for what we need, It is in our... More
