An oasis of peace and bird song and only 5 minutes walk from San Marco. Flora felt very Venetian, the room was small but comfortable, the courtyard for breakfast a delight as was the breakfast, advice from reception spot on - great restaurant (Raffaele?) just around the corner at the water taxi stop. Altogether charming and thee perfect location. We... More

Staff was wonderful. Breakfast was dry good. Great location but Venice compact enough that you can stay almost anywhere in the old city. The closer you get to San Marco the more you get the annoying street selfie stick merchants. Regarding the room, the hotel is full of charm. Nooks, plants, historical decorative pieces. But the hotel is sparsely adorned... More

We recently stayed at the Hotel Flora in Venice and were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful level of service and overall quality of the hotel. We flew into Venice a day prior to our cruise and the concierge arranged a pick up by boat directly to the hotel upon our email request a few days before leaving home. This was... More

The hotel room was disappointingly smaller than we thought, and rather cramped, but the lovely garden with a killer breakfast and opulent decor everywhere more than makes up for it. The location is great for visiting Harry's Bar, Accademia, St Marks Square and Gritti Palace which are all so close by. There are plenty of ATMs nearby, and the ferry... More

We stayed at the Hotel Flora for 4 nights. Our first night there was spent in a great large room because I had to add a night at the beginning of our trip so it was a separate reservation for a superior room which was great. My original reservation was for an economy room. Based on the pictures I felt... More

Great location, scrumptious buffet, pleasant rooms. A perfect hotel for your visit to Venice. Breakfast outside on the patio is beautiful. Right on a side canal from the Grand Canal bybPlaza San Marco, so you don't have to drag your luggage through the streets.

My wife and I spent three nights there with my in laws. We had a room on third floor and they had one on second. Theirs was a deluxe vs our standard. Spend the extra money for the upgrade. Some of the rooms could use a fresh coat of paint. Other than that, we loved our stay. Great location, awesome... More

We arrived at Marco Polo airport, airport a little chaotic but once we cleared customs and collected our baggage it was smooth sailing. We caught the number 5 bus outside the airport to Piazza Roma 6 euro per person. Piazza Roma is the last stop so relax, once there we choose to catch the vapororetto, the stop we needed is... More

My husband & I spent 3 nights here & loved every minute of it. The staff were friendly & the buffet breakfast was delicious. Our room was spacious & charming with lovely courtyard garden to have a coffee or relax with a book. 2 mins to St Marks Square & easy access to water taxis. Would highly recommend

Friendly small hotel right in the centre of Venice. Lovely garden, good breakfast served outside, helpful staff. We stayed here for four nights and felt that the staff were genuinely concerned to help us.Very convenient for the Aliguna boat from the airport and good value for money considering its position.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
