A small, beautiful and cozy hotel with clean functional rooms in a quiet little alley next to Piazza San Marco. The staff is very nice and always happy to help. Good breakfast. An excellent and free WIFI. Free-use computer station on each floor. warmly recommended.

We can't fault this hotel - lovely spot, clean comfortable rooms, really friendly staff. good breakfast and cosy bar ( we went in January) and a courtyard garden which must be lovely in the summer. Its close to St Mark's Square and Accademia. A really perfect place to stay for a weekend in Venice. Reasonably priced too.

Very charming, romantic and authentic. People who work at the hotel are simply delightful. In the morning we would be waken up by the smell of fresh croissants and bread being baked in the kitchen of the hotel and on our last day the baker came at 5.30am to make us breakfast before we left for our early flight. We stayed at this gem of a Venetian hotel for a special birthday and everything was just wonderful. It has old fashioned Venetian charm and is a million miles away from the 'euro' hotels of today. It has beautiful linen, acceptable bathrooms and everything you need in the centre of this magical city. In a central but quiet location. We... More

This hotel has the best of all worlds: tucked away in a quiet callette/alley, but three minutes from San Marco. The room was lovely - a little balcony, comfy bed with nice linens, clean prettily-tiled bathroom - and featured a peaked ceiling with rustic beams and chandelier. Nicest of all was the staff - helpful and friendly - especially the... More

This must have been the sixth or seventh time we've stayed in this excellent hotel. It's family owned and run, staffed by consummate professionals, is clean, friendly, welcoming and a shere delight. The head concierge will absolutely arrange anything you need and the wonderful fellow running the bar is priceless! A four-star rating!

This a well priced hotel with plenty of charm in Venice. I would recommend staying in Venice when visiting and this hotel is the perfect option. I loved my stay at Hotel Flora! The place was run by very friendly and energetic staff who were only too willing to offer recommendations for events or things to do in the area. The hotel was clean. And the cleaning staff were flexible (the lovely breakfast meant a little snooze afterwards some days - well it was holiday afterall!).... More

During our stay at the Hotel Flora we had many experiences that made our short visit to Venice absolutely wonderful. The hotel is very well located, near to plaza san marco. The staff is great, very helpful and responsive to our needs. The hotel has a great scent by the minute you enter the lobby. The walls have a special... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
