I really enjoyed the location of this small hotel. The room was clean, and I did receive a free upgrade to a larger room, so that was a nice surprise. I noticed that there were a few things that needed repair in the room, but it really didn't make or break my stay. Breakfast was tasty with many options to... More

My friend and I have just returned from a three-night break to Venice. The location of this hotel makes it perfect for a short break - you can get an airport ferry, and to drops you about a 2 minute walk from the hotel, at the San Zaccaria waterbus stop. Look for the Hotel Savoie, and walk to the left... More

This hotel as a brilliant location making Venice easy to explore by foot or water bus. The rooms are small but are fine for a few night stay. The hotel provides a good breakfast and staff were all friendly and helpful. Well worth the price and more.

The room was very clean and spacious (especially for Venice) with a comfy double bed. The bathroom, just as clean, was equipped with a nice shower. The continental breakfast (buffet) was good. The hotel accepts without issue to keep the luggages after the checkout. Plus, a vaporetto station is 1 minute walk away from the hotel, with no stairs, which... More

The hotel room was nice and the bed was comfortable. The front door to the hotel was secured during evening hours. Breakfast was not very good with horrible machine coffee and runny, icky scrambled eggs. The desk clerk was a pompous individual but did give us good recommendations for restaurants. We got a cash discount for the room and we... More

Going here from S.Lucia station, take water train then exit at San Zacarias. What is fantastic about this hotel is you wont pass any bridge. Right after your exit, you will see a restaurant right across, that restaurant has a small alley. Pass through that alley. A few minutes from the resto is the Campiello Hotel. 1) Check in was... Excellent location, actually closer than what the hotel says, the entrance street is after the statue of San Zaccaria at <150m from the water bus. Really close to plaza San Marco. Breakfast included. The extra bed is the worst in the world! I expected a small but confortable bed, not a portable bed for the price we pay.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during our stay in Venice. We were very well pleased with our location. We had a superior triple room. This gave us a small bed to put our luggage. The C/D Vaporetto stop is nearby the small alley that you take to the hotel. St. Mark's Square is only... More

Stayed here for three days and had our own little hotel room "T" right near to the main hotel entrance. The hotel is very close to the waterbus zoccarro stop which has early boats operating from 5.11am and the special water boat that heads to and from the airport. Staff were great and our room was available earlier than expected.... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
