We stayed for three nights on a trip to Venice very recently. The hotel was very basic, but very clean. The staff were all very helpful and gave us a map and told us where was best to go. One thing I would say though is that the room does get super hot, and there is only a small fan... More

Its very well located. Everything is walkeable. Service attitude not so good. They charged me for checking in late (after 8 pm) which I never got in any hotel ever. There's no breakfast or air conditioning. Considering the facilities it's a little expensive. I guess you pay location. Otherwise very clean and good room.

We stayed here late June when it wasn't too hot. The staff were very helpful and nice during our stay. We stayed in a nice double bed room for 2 nights and felt like we were in Venice. The decor was pleasant and facilities quite decent. The location is great as its a short 8 minute walk to St.Marks basicila... More

Good, small hotel in a quiet area of Venice. Very helpful and friendly staff able to provide necessary information. No AC, but few bugs in Venice so an open window and a fan does the trick. Nothing fancy, but clean and 2 minutes from a boat stop and within walking distance to everything. Recommended.

We recently stayed two nights at San Samuele and really enjoyed it. The room was fairly small, but clean and nicely furnished, and we had two lovely windows with views of the street. Location was excellent, we could walk to everything very easily, and it was also close to a vaporetto stop. The staff were all very friendly and helpful,... More

This is a classic Venice hotel in a good, off the beaten path location. We felt like we were staying with the locals rather than in the more crowded, touristy areas. The staff was friendly and helpful with our questions. There is a small cafe right outside and also a small market to buy water and snacks. The room and... More

This is an authentic hotel in a good location in Venice. The facilities are basic, but it is a charming hotel with friendly staff. The location is perfect for strolling out and exploring all the sites Venice has to offer. There are nearby cafe's and restaurants. There is no a/c so you may need to have the window open for... We were originally wanting to stay at a hostel during our stay in Venice, but found this hotel was actually cheaper and in a much better location than any hostels available. Our flight was delayed 5 hours and we arrived at the hotel a little past 12 am. They had someone waiting for us (they do not have 24 hour... More

Had stayed here for few days and enjoyed the stay. Though was skeptical at first sight, it turn out to be good choice. It is nothing great as such but a good place and good value for money. Recommended. Huzayf.

This hotel is in a good location for exploring Venice. It was a very nice, but basic place to stay. I was in a room with a shared bathroom, but never actually had to wait to use it. Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
