Had stayed here for few days and enjoyed the stay. Though was skeptical at first sight, it turn out to be good choice. It is nothing great as such but a good place and good value for money. Recommended. Huzayf.

This hotel is in a good location for exploring Venice. It was a very nice, but basic place to stay. I was in a room with a shared bathroom, but never actually had to wait to use it. This hotel provides no breakfast, but there is a small cafe very near by serving the usual suspects and a nice place... More

Looking for accommodation in Venice sent us into a spiral of despair, even for mid-April (we started looking in mid-March). Fortunately, we spotted a recommendation for this place in a Conde Nast article online and decided to give it a try. We are glad we did! We had booked an "economic" room with shared bathroom, but they upgraded us on... More

We just wanted a base to stay for 3 nights while we explored Venice and it was perfect. Comfortable big bed, clean, good shower, very friendly helpful and welcoming hosts. Lovely location on a quiet square with a good bar nearby, but only one calle off the bigger squares. Ideally located for all main attractions. We loved it and will... More

We were told we could check in early but when we arrived we were told to come at 3 so we had to take all our luggage and find a place to eat and spend time until we could get in our room. We were told our room would have a view of the main street and it was of... More

Wouldn't consider rating this 5 star as quite a few have on here and I'm typically one to be generous w compliments. My room was extremely small, honestly couldn't help reminiscing on one of the monk's rooms I'd just recently visited at an ancient lyon cathedral. I enjoy cultured and historical lodging but this was so in a less than... More

A great location, close to public transportation and easy to find. The room was clean, new and comfortable. Hotel staff were nice, helpful and courteous. For the fairly cheap price, it was satisfying and much recommended.

I stayed in Venice for 1 night only which I regret because it's such a magical place. The arrival is really simple from the train station with the Canal Grande boat transport. Albergo San Samuele is wonderful little hotel with rooms in a comfortable Venezian style, they are clean and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The fact that... More

Dear Daniela, thank you for this wonderful review. We are particularly pleased that you consider our hotel very good and you particularly enjoyed our Venetian style, but above all that you could taste the real Venetian atmosphere, fully enjoying the magic of this magical city thanks also to our contribution. All your compliments gratify us a lot. Thanks again. Best... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
