I stayed 3 awesome nights , the room was a family room, the view was magnificent, directly on the Grand Canal. The hotel is Clean, Nice breakfast in the morning.Friendly Staff. The hotel is very near to Rialto Bridge, also you can reach San Marco Square and Doges palace either using the Vaporrato ( Water bus) or on foot(15-20 ) minutes,... More

The hotel costs alot for what it is but that is probably standard of venice. You definitely pay for the location (right next to Rialto bridge) and the stunning view of the Grand Canal, average breakfast, would be better if you could pick the croissants yourself rather than getting 1 each as the plain ones are alot nicer than the... I randomly booked with this hotel at the last minute, during a period where most accommodation was booked up due to the previews of the Venice Biennale. I stayed at this hotel, first for 5 nights in the apartment, and then another four nights in a smaller room in the main building. The apartment is a decent size, with a... More

When we were looking for a hotel in Venice, we had two boxes to tick. Must have a view of the Rialto Bridge and must have character. This hotel didn't disappoint. I specifically booked a room with a view and sure enough, we were in Room 2, which looks out over the Grand Canal and the beautiful Rialto. Unfortunately for... More

We were quite happy here because of the ideal location right by Rialto bridge. Excellent for tourists who are out and about all day and value a great location over extra comfort, modern facilities and fast wifi connections. The internet connection was terribly slow and the breakfast selection very limited, yet the view from the breakfast room simply wonderful! The... More

We stayed here for 3 nights, mainly basing its location and good reviews on here as our guide. The hotel is located right on the Grand Canal, 30s from the Rialto Bridge - making it easy to find no matter how lost you get in the city. The hotel was clean enough. Rooms are basic but have all you need,... More

We stayed here for one night while visiting Venice and we have no complaints. Our room was just the right size and everything was clean. We had a little balcony that looked out onto some small Italian roads. In the morning they served breakfast in the adorable and charming dining room which overlooked the Grand Canal. This was such a... More

The Antica Locanda Sturion is a typical Venetian hotel, very central, near to Rialto bridge and vaporetto station. Our room was big, clean and comfortable. The only defect was the stairs up to reception and rooms mentioned by other reviewers, the best was the dining room with a gorgeous view of canal grande.

I had a wonderful time at the Antica locanda Sturion. For the price I paid I received an excellent value. Location close to the Rialto Bridge is central and convenient with vapporeto. A water shuttle to the airport is just across the bridge. Walking distance to San Marco square is less than 10 minutes.. Stuff is extremely helpful and friendly;... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
