A great location by the Grand Canal, close to the Rialto bridge, ideal! It's on the top floor with a lot of stairs but the staff will help if you are struggling. Excellent breakfast and the dining room looks out over the Grand canal; makes a fantastic location for a cup of tea in the afternoon. Staff friendly and helpful.

The hotel has great location very close to the Rialto bridge. We are a family of 4. The family room has one double bed and 2 single beds. It sleeps 4 comfortably. When we opened the window, we see the grand canal! We did not mind the long stairs. It was a great exercise to walk off those gelato, pasta... More

We stayed here with our family of four, previously my husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon 18 years earlier! The bathroom and room were of a good size, we were all able to fit without too much of a squeeze. Nice breakfast in the morning and the guy at the front desk even got the breakfast room ready... Greatly situated hotel to go exploring all of venice. Room/bathroom were tiny but worked for what we needed. No elevators, but we stayed on 2nd level so didn't have too bad of a climb. Guests on top level have it bad with about 5 stories to climb with bags. Hotel staff was very nice and accomodating. Breakfast was good way... More

My wife and I just recently returned from a long vacation in Italy. One thing I definitely want to do was to take her to Venice and since I wanted a nice dinner and a gondola ride I would need a hotel. The number of hotels in Venice are staggering, and all promise great service. However, someone mentioned to me... More

My wife and I finished up our two-week "trip of a lifetime" with two nights in Venice. Venice is ridiculously expensive and so this place may feel like a bunch, especially for a three-star hotel. However, I tend to feel like it was a nicer hotel than that. It's was extremely personal, the staff was amazing and accommodating and the... More

We luckily stumbled on this hotel. It is very close to Bridge Rialto. You over look the main canal when having breakfast (EXCELLENT breakfast) Service was outstanding. We arrived from the 30 minute walk from the station and they gave us a cool drink. Room was nicely done. Big with a few windows for air movement. Also had a fridge.... More

We have just returned from hotel at weekend. Thanks to Italian transport our flight home was cancelled on friday and the earliest next one was sunday. It took us a while to find a hotel with 2 rooms available next day in venice but the Sturion came up trumps. What a beautiful hotel and fantastic location. Staff could not have... More

This place is a gem for the price. Venice seemed super expensive for a decent hotel but we were lucky enough to find Locanda Sturion. It is nearly on top of the Rialto bridge, very central location 5 min walk to San Marco. It was clean and the staff were friendly. They had an amazing included breakfast in a charming... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
"Antica Locanda Sturion," probably Venice’s most ancient hotel still running, is a cosy small Venetian House featuring just 11 rooms. Its decor, the ancient style furniture and the Venetian red damask and brocade make it special, creating a truly traditional unique and cosy feeling. A welcoming place from the past with superb and very impressive views on the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge from the two Superior Rooms and the beautiful Breakfast Lounge, which is also: - a reading room with a tiny yet well-stocked library boasting a number of books in various languages.- a living room for an afternoon break and taking photos of the magnificent sunsets on the Grand Canal. You have just to take a look in the evening or early morning to breathe the magic of Venice and take a dip in the past and its atmosphere. Truly a breathtaking view! This Boutique Hotel is a small and well-established family business run by Nicole, Manuela, Helen and Flavia, who will do all their best to provide you with specific suggestions and advice for an unusual and intriguingly unique approach to our town. And in all our old-style rooms you will find the kettle to prepare a good cup of tea or coffee with complimentary cookies to rest after a long city tour. In a nutshell the right place to breath a truly Venetian and romantic atmosphere. As there is no lift to reach the Locanda, situated on the top floor of an Ancient Palace on the Grand Canal, we want our Guest to be aware they have to climb a long stairs, but our bellman Giuseppe will be happy to help you carrying upstairs your heaviest items.
