An overall very enjoyable stay at Tintoretto with only a few problems. On arrival as we were in a large group of students there was a lot of hassle with photo copying passports which meant we had to leave them with the hotel for a few hours, which wasn't too good. The room was very clean and comfortable, very high... More

My Boyfriend and I stayed 2 nights during the Carnival (9.2-11-2). We had a nice and very clean room, the blanket situation was kinda weird but oh well, the bed was so comfy and overall this hotel is a good address if you like to explore Venice. You can walk everywhere from the Hotel (San Marco about 25min walk etc).... More

Just returned from a four night stay with friends. The hotel were very accommodating when I asked if we could have close rooms. Bedrooms were reasonably compact but ample, good size on-suite. Bed extremely comfortable with good quality linen, which was even changed during our stay. In an excellent position just off the main street. Within walking distance of all... More

Good breakfast, very good location near everithing, small rooms, little bit cold (in January). Very good housekeeping service. Quiet neighbourhood, room in rustical style. Clean bathroom. Very good restaurants around the hotel.

It is a good hotel if you are staying for 1 to 3 nights. The breakfast is really good is self service and has: eggs, croissants, cereal, juice, and coffee. The rooms are nice and comfortable, and the hotel is near the touristic area and there are plenty of good restaurants and shops. If you want an affordable price they... More

Stayed three nights here on a recent trip to Venice. Friendly staff, comfortable room not too pricey but close to good restaurants and Venice water bus known as vaporetti, a five minute walk. Can easily access any part if the city, Murano, Burano. Hotel owner suggested a side trip to Burano, known for lace-making. The trip was worth the effort.... More

This was a quaint old small hotel surrounded by waterways. The bathrooms was almost larger than the bedroom with a comfortable shower, toilet and terrific a toilet with a wash nozzle,,,I think it is called a beda..but don't know how to spell it...It was very quiet and we slept well in the small double bed. The people working there were very friendly... More

I have lived in Rome, Italy for twenty-years, and my husband is Italian. When you understand the Italian culture, language, and residents, you can better rate their hotel accommodations. This rustic hotel is adequate for anyone who expects a good location, reasonable rates, clean room amenities, and courtesy with service. The complimentary breakfast they serve offers something for any diet,... More

I stayed at Hotel Tintoretto for 2 nights and I’m still not sure why it has a 3 star rating. When I arrived at the Tintoretto, I was brought to my room which was located in the hotel’s annex. I had to exit the main building, cross the street, and go down a narrow side-street to get to it. They... More

It was the worst holiday stay ever. The hotel claims that it is a 3 star hotel. However, there are only 7 rooms in total. The rates are as high as a 4 star hotel. But It is worst than a lodge. It is situated at a horrendous location. There was no porter service. The stairs were really narrow and... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
