The Saturnia is the best hotel we have stayed at in our eight or nine visits to Venice. We spent five nights there and were delighted with the accommodations, the service, the breakfasts, and the very convenient location. When we made our booking, we were concerned about arriving with our rolling bags over bridges. We were told there was only... More

I would recommend this hotel based on its location. The hotel has a lot of charm, the staff was very helpful, and the rooms are clean. The rooms are a good value for Venice but the furniture in the rooms and the bathrooms are a little dated. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Tell Andre he is such a wonderful asset to your hotel. So helpful in our stay. We thought your hotel was fabulous. The food was so good, accommodations-it was very beautiful. Not too hard to find with GPS on our phone. Amazingly the hotel is very large for such a small area. Just beautiful. Would stay again.

We just back from our venise trip, so regarding this hotel i have only one expression - rooms are not the same, different from picture and less charming than presented. First night we had crappy room, with very old bathroom (with hair somewhere), not working weak flash toilet and old old wall BROWN paper. it was superior room!!! Really OMG.... More

Excellent hotel! Just perfect really. Wonderful location. Pleasant breakfast. Warm staff. Comfortable bed. Spacious room. Clean bathroom. Relaxing shower. All in all, I'm not sure we could have done better in Venice. The Saturna is close to everything: St Marks, vaparetti, shopping, Academia, restaurants, yet it still feels like a find. This is my go-to recommendation from now on!

We stayed here for 4 nights. The location was perfect - close to San Marco's but within easy walking distance of the Accademia as well. The staff was very professional. Several months before our trip I emailed them with questions about getting a water taxi to the hotel. They replied immediately and that information was very helpful & decreased my... More

This is one of the best hotels in Venice! Location is near the Basilica of S. Mark's. The room we got was overlooking the small canal and sometimes we can hear the gondola passing by. Room is very clean, it's charming and totally Venetian in theme. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends.

Very good experience, very conveniently located, not the first time in hotel, staff at front desk always ready to help and give advice about everything necessary, thanks a lot! Rooms clean and big enough. The food in the restaurant is good, but the maitre refused to give us a good table. Pity!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel last week and were appalled by the behavior of the staff! We stayed for two nights and during that time, the staff at the front desk never greeted us or spoke to us as we exited or entered the hotel. They were aloof to the point of being rude and it was... Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
