great room, lots of help from the concierge We also took the free trip to the Murano glass factory which was a lot of fun. The room was spacious for venice with plenty of room for our family of 4. Nicely located close to st marks square, many restaurants and museums.

The hotel was beautiful, wonderfully furnished, but not over the top. Staff sorted out my airline booking without fuss and the stay was refreshing. Would return in a flash. I would particularly like to commend Irene who was always bright, cheerful and efficient and always remembered my name! Well done Irene!

Stayed here for 4 nights in July. The hotel is clean and well cared for. It is ideally situated for St.Mark's square, which is only 5 mins walk away. It is a bit of a rabbit warren with the advantage of its own landing stage so you can get a water taxi right to the door. The staff were friendly... More

Amazing experience, especially arriving by water taxi to the door of the hotel. Rooms are beautifully decorated with antiques and chandeliers. Quaint, romantic, best location. We were a family of 5, and it was perfect for us.

A very central and comfortable hotel. Great for a special weekend or short break away. We found the hotel convenient for most of the activities, access to St Marks Square, etc. Getting to and from the airport takes time though.

This hotel is fantastic, a stone's throw from St Mark's Square and all the shops, restaurants etc. The rooms are lovely - venetian styled. The hotel has a lovely restaurant and the breakfast is fabulous. The staff could not do enough to help. Would definitely come back here.

Hotel of ageless beauty and ambient romanticism ideally located only minutes from San Marco Square, fine restaurants and shopping and water transportation. We are experienced travelers, a married couple with a teenage daughter, and found that the collective amenities made our second-time visit to Venice another “wonderful experience.” Noteworthy amenities included the warm and gracious hospitality of the entire staff... Thank you for making our stay a most memorable one! The staff is outstanding and your service makes travelling most pleasurable. Thank your for the wonderful memories. The staff went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. The held our luggage for early check in, treated us to cappuccino's and cookies while we waited, made suggestions... More

We stayed for 2 nights in this fantastic hotel based on TripAdvisor reviews and it did not disappoint. We appreciated the large and clean rooms, a classic Venetian feel and an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff. Location very accessible by boat, though not on the Grand Canal itself. Would recommend to anyone.

Hotel was great, after accepting us at the last minute after our booking at another hotel had been inadvertently cancelled. Location is great, staff are very helpful and friendly. The garden restaurant is lovely at breakfast, maybe a suggestion is to have some Venetian music playing in the background. The roof terrace is relaxing with comfy seating.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
