A huge thank you to the management team! I specifically asked for a room with a bath, and ended up getting one of the nicest bathrooms I've used! Also the room had a fantastic view and the bed was super comfy(room 50). It's a bit noisey from the gondolas in the morning however you've got such a good view it... More

Firstly they score a BIG 5 because it was my birthday and they spoilt me, thank you. Other than that; very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast has a wonderful selection of savoury and sweet. The room was nicely decorated with lovely antique furniture (our wardrobe had a plaque) Which brings us to our only compliant in that the room was... More

Front of house was very efficient and always friendly. The room was always spotless. The restaurant was great albeit rather expensive. It was also a very busy place but the staff just drifted around and created a calm and relaxed atmosphere.

Staying at the Hotel Saturnia has been a delight. Everyone on the staff from maintenance to management have been friendly and professional treating us with dignity and respect. Here are Old World Manners not the surfer-boy overly casual ignorant service you receive in America. It is tastefully decorated with Venetian chandeliers, carved wood ceilings and banisters - warm and inviting.... More

This hotel is situated in a great location very close to St Marks Square. Room was clean and well presented with a beautiful bathroom. The room we stayed in (50) looked directly onto the canal and it was amazing to hear the singers on the gondolas as they floated past. Breakfast was superb with a great selection. Only helpful suggestions... More

A family run hotel centrally located it is at a five minutes walk from St Mark's square and a good location if you plan a night at the Fenice Opera house. It has a Venetian atmosphere, as most of the rooms have furniture in the local style The restaurant is good at a reasonable price Good value for money

Stayed with my wife and four friends. Had a fabulous pre gala dinner on New Years Eve in the hotel. Went out later to see the firework display. Stayed 5 nights and we all enjoyed superb break. All the staff are extremely helpful, Andrea, in particular recommended our New Years day trip to the Lido. A walk on the beach,... More

I stayed here for one night for a short business trip. The room was clean but basic although there was nothing particular to complain about - the hotel did what it needed to do, it would have been useful if there had been an iron and ironing board for instance, and there was no bottled water which is something I... Dear NeilWaters1965, thanks for your feedback on tripadvisor. Regarding iron and ironing board, this is not allowed in the rooms, but i do not think anyway it is very common to find these items in... More

On our way to a factory up country our hosts treated us to a stay in Venice the night before. Water taxis from the airport to canal entrance of the hotel and the departure to the station was probably the most memorable part of the trip, but the cosy hotel was also a pleasure. Off season Venice was a joy... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
