This was a romantic 3 day getaway 7 months after the birth of our second child. I wanted it to be perfect. So you can imagine how thrilled we were when we arrived to the announcement that we were being upgraded to a Suite! What a great start! The hotel is in an ideal location. The staff is very helpful... Review from a 2011 stay: We went for our 10th wedding anniversary. We told them we would like a room overlooking a canal, and they gave us the only one that was available within our bedroom price. The location was perfect, with no noise coming from the street -the canal, I mean. We were welcomed with complementary wine at the... More

We had an excellent time staying at your hotel, thanks for making it memorable. This was our 25th wedding anniversary trip and staying at the Saturnia as well as being so close to all the major attractions (St Mark's Square, Acaddemia Bridge, Grand Canal, Etc. Etc.) made the trip very memorable to us. Room was excellent, breakfast each morning was... More

This hotel was exceptional and right in the heart of things. It was a stop on our tour of the Mediterranean and we were thrilled with the people, service and rooms. Very close to San Marco square and very short walks to other attractions. If we get this way again I would stay here, it was perfect. The Breakfast was... More

Just returned from Venice after spending a magical three nights at the Hotel Saturnia & International to celebrate my husband's birthday. The hotel and staff surpassed our expectations. This is a really characterful hotel, in a great central location that provides the most professional service. Our room was exceptional with a wonderful private balcony overlooking the courtyard and views of... More

What a perfect Venetian hotel. It has an old world, personal feeling, probably since it has been run by the same family since the early 1900's. We had the least expensive room booked which was huge with 20 foot ceilings, Italian antiques and a lovely bathroom with tub and separate shower. We overlooked a quiet courtyard. Staff was always helpful... More

Congratulation for running an excellent operation. We felt welcome, the staff was helpful and considerate, and we liked the ambience of the hotel. The hotel is within walking distance of major landmarks and sights, and shopping, good food, and night life. A great place for all ages & interests.

Thank you for making our stay in Venice so memorable. The free bottle of Prosecco to celebrate my partner's birthday was a lovely surprise and was very much appreciated. Fantastic location close to San Marco and staff absolutely wonderful and so helpful

The hotel is in a great location that is convenient to both the St Marks and Academia areas. It was a five minute walk from the boat that goes to/from the airport. As soon as we stepped inside the lobby, we felt like we were in a luxurious cocoon. Our reasonably priced room was spacious and the decor lovely. The air... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
