We spent 4 nights in this hotel, were so happy with our stay. The room rate was reasonable for 2 people because we were lucky enough to book the sales bedroom. The location is perfectly close to lots of attractions. Easy to access to public transport and many shops. The receptionists was very friendly and helpful, especially Raimondar. The room... More

The rooms look like a New Orleans bordello, extremely small - no room for luggage - air conditioning didn't work very well, breakfast dreadful, the elevator was so primitive that two hamsters ran it. It was extremely expensive for a three star hotel (if it was that). The only two good things I can say about it is that we... More

We were in the main building which is probably 100 years old. The baths have been done and the decor is early New Orleans bordello and crazy prices (you would not believe what we paid)...but nothing else available. The lift is for one thin person. The buffet looked OK. The staff is five star....but hotel is priced above its mark.... More

We stayed in an annexe room which was dimly lit and small and a minutes outside walk from the main reception. The cleanliness was good, yet the furniture and decoration needed repair. Use the wooden shutters to reduce street/canal noise from the early morning workers. The breakfast room and food was good, not fantastic, the few staff on site were... More

I stayed at Hotel Torino in Venice for one night following a cruise. Thank goodness that we sought out the hotel before our stay as it was not easy to find. There is a small reception desk and a lift to all floors. My room was very comfortable and clean at the rear of the Hotel therefore very quiet. Breakfast... More

We have been sent to the "depandance" so to reach our room we were supposed to go to another building. The main one, where the reception is, is very nice. But we have been sent to the other one. First of all this big door during the day is always hold open with no-one checking who goes and come. Is... More

The main hotel was fine - the decor, cleanliness and breakfast was good for the 3 star rating. The good reviews we read before we went, on reviewing once there, were all regarding the main hotel. However, we booked a room in the annex, which we assumed (as the label suggests) is linked to the main hotel. It is not.... More

To start with I should list the positives of the Hotel Torino. the location was just perfect, 5 mins from the madness of Piazza San Marco and no more than 20 mins walk from anywhere of any great significance. The Hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff cleaned the room to a very high standard every day which was a... More

WOW from entering the Hotel Torino we were delighted by the friendly Raymondo he gave us so much information and a great room. Room 134 is next to the breakfast room and opposite the kitchen which can be disturbing to some guests but we enjoyed the lovely smells early in the morning from the kitchen. The lovely chandelier in the... More

Stayed for 3 nights after my initial hotel room was unexpectedly cancelled the day before arrival. Although my initial hotel was bigger I was pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean with typical venetian decor, the bathroom ample for us and also very clean. The rooms and bathroom were cleaned every day and fresh towels left. Complimentry breakfast was nice... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
