oom was comfortable, not very large but enough space for twin beds and luggage and still walk around. toilet was clean and nice. there is a lift to bring your luggage up to 1st floor but there was another flight of stairs when we entered the room. so you open your room door, and there is a flight of stairs... We had 2 rooms in this hotel. Both were nice and clean. One had rather low ceiling, the other a very high ceiling. Decorated nicely. Staff was excellent! Always helpful and polite. Location was the best- only 5 minutes from St Mark's. Airconditioning was fine if you left your key in the room... or told the front desk to keep... More

A little hard to find, as it is almost hidden, a single door in the corner of a busy street, but it's really close to Piazza di San Marco. Around, a myriad of business, coffee shops and restaurants, including the fancy boutiques just around the corner. As for the room we've chosen, an old style room in the annex property.... More

The hotel is very conveniently located, next to many bars, cafes, monuments, piazzas, and shops. The room we had was spacious and amazingly decorated in baroque looking style, situated on the first floor with a cute balcony and a spacious bed - not in every room they have that though. The balcony faced the street, so the room wasn't exactly... More

My friend & I have just returned from our first trip to Venice...amazing to say the least. Organised by my friend, we stayed at the Hotel Torino. What a fabulous location. Rooms a little small, but we barely spent anytime there, extremely clean. The welcome was very friendly & efficient, and we would most definitely stay there again as the... More

This main hotel is located on the walkway only minutes away from San Marco Square. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in the vicinity. We were booked into the Residenza Casa Moro 3 (see hotel website) which is an annex around the corner from the main hotel. The room was large with a 3 metre wide 4 poster bed!... More

We stayed here for a week, and we liked it. The location is excellent, few minutes away from San Marco square. The staff was friendly, they were really helpful when we asked them for advice. Our room was small, but clean and fresh. The man that checked us in said that the room hade been renovated a year or so... More

Don't let other reviews put you off! Hotel was lovely fantastic location right in the heart of Venice 5 mins from San Marcos square and on a street with restaurants sandwich shops etc, on street with all designer shops Chanel Gucci Louis Vuitton, room was small but we still had plenty of room even with a baby cot, we even... We spent 4 nights in this hotel, were so happy with our stay. The room rate was reasonable for 2 people because we were lucky enough to book the sales bedroom. The location is perfectly close to lots of attractions. Easy to access to public transport and many shops. The receptionists was very friendly and helpful, especially Raimondar. The room... More

The rooms look like a New Orleans bordello, extremely small - no room for luggage - air conditioning didn't work very well, breakfast dreadful, the elevator was so primitive that two hamsters ran it. It was extremely expensive for a three star hotel (if it was that). The only two good things I can say about it is that we... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
