This was my first visit to Venice and although there were friends there at the same time I chose to stay somewhere separately and was looking for a single room. September in Venice was expensive but the single room at La Fenice was good value and so I booked it online through Expedia. When I arrived, the staff at the... More

Lift was a bit slow and the rooms were boiling hot, quite a shock when you come from outdoors when temperatures are low outside. Need to be a bit of a limbo specialist and have slender thighs to use the toilet in Room 214, the location of the sink and toilet is not optimal, but it is a small room,... More

This hotel has real 'old world' Italian charm and although it's far from 'state of the art' - it's clean, very warm (we visited in February and the radiators were on full blast) plus the staff are extremely helpful. It's also in a great location (just 2 minutes from St Mark's Square). We asked for a twin room and were... More

I have been to Venice several times and I generally stay on the Dorsoduro. This trip I wanted to be closer to the center of things but not too close. La Fenice, the opera house, was being restored last time I was in Venice, so I choose the nearby hotel of the same name. Nine days in this great establishment... More

Stayed in this hotel because it was very close to La Fenice. At first it looks ok but once we got in our room it was just terrible. First of all the lift is completly outdated and you have to wait a long time. Then you still have to walk along corridors/steps (so not good for oldies). When we enter... More

Stayed here with my mum in the summer, absolutely perfect for us. Fantastic location, close to everything and in a great walking distance to all of the main attractions. Also very close to the Alilaguna stop, S.Angelo, which is on the 'Linea Arancio' and is used for the airport. Lovely rooms, very clean and well presented. Friendly staff, couldn't do... More

The hotel is tucked in a courtyard behind the La Fenice Opera House about five minutes walk from St Mark's Square. The hotel is in an old Ventian building and is charmingly rambling with decorative Ventian glass and antiques on stairs and landings. My room was huge with an enormous antique wardrobe and dresser. Breakfast was included and was typical... More

Although my friends told me not to expect much from hotels in Italy and Venice in particular, I have to say that for more than 100 € a night, I found this hotel a tad overpriced and not 4-star worthy. Probably that's due to its location or Venice in general. Good things first: Great staff, very friendly, always smiling and... More

On first sight of my room I was surprised and wondered whether I would like it because all the walls were painted blue but over the course of my three night stay, I grew to love my single room (with ensuite) up in the eaves of the hotel. OK so I was on the fourth floor which meant climbing all... More

A friend recommended this hotel and it couldn't have been any better. The accommodations were nice and clean and the staff friendly and helpful. We especially liked that we were just far enough away from St. Mark's square. A short leisurely walk, nice atmosphere, no crowds and once you start to move a little away fro the square prices are...
