I enjoyed staying at this hotel. The service was superb, friendly and very hospitable. The rooms are nice and have a very comfortable beds. Very clean, charming and traditional venetian style. Easy to find. Right next door to teatro La Fenice.

This was our 3rd stay at this hotel. Perfect location. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle of St Marks Place but still close to everything. As before we asked for , and got, a room overlooking the canal. With this, one gets free entertainment from below when gondolas with tourists entertained my musicians and.or singers pass by. Room... Very near to Rialto Bridge ,shops and St Marks square. Breakfast with fresh orange juice and croissants was not bad but can be more plentiful. The room had a magnificient view. But the air condition was a little bit noisy. The room was quite big and the bathroom was also comfortable. There was always hot water for the bath. The... More

Disappointed, to say the least. In BATHROOM , only soap and shampoo , no tissues, no creams, no Qtips or whatever you would usually find in this price category hotel . BREAKFAST: Canned fruit and no fresh fruit at the buffet , cheap meats and cheese and if you rather be gluten free forget all about it. Forget WIFI too... More

The hotel is very centrally located - very close to sites & restaurants. It's a little hard to find but so is everything else in Venice. Staff is friendly & accomodating. Our room was pretty small. Common areas are a little shabby and uninteresting.

My boyfriend and I stayed here from 20-23 November to celebrate our anniversary. It also became the weekend we got engaged - so Venice now holds a huge place in our hearts! The hotel is in a great location for public transport, seeing the key sites and also for a quiet, peaceful night's sleep. We had a room overlooking the... More

We stayed here for three days and found it to be well-located, charming, and fairly priced. Our room was basic but spacious, and had a nice large bathroom. Our windows opened out into the front of the hotel and were situated over the bar, which made for noise late into the night. Closed windows and ear plugs solved the problem.... More

We stayed in the hotels apartments located across from the hotel itself. The apartment ticked all of the right boxes. Stayed there for three days. Was nice and tidy with a kitchen and two double bedrooms both with en suite bedrooms. Only problem was no hot water but that didn't put us off. The place is ideal for all of... More

Dear colinsabi, thank you to have left a nice review on our hotel. Our apartments are good especially for families, because they have also a kitchen and they are located just in front of the hotel. This charming hotel is in the center of a triangle formed by the Academia and Rialto Bridge and St Marks Plaza next to the opera hall, a perfect location. Like everyplace in Venice it is surrounded by water and therefore subject to mosquitos in the rooms since they don't have screens. the adjacent restaurant is wonderful. take some DEET and... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
