this is not the easiest place to find in Venice. the road signs are complicated and this apartment was located in the smallest of street, but once we found our way to the BNB, which i must warn you, had no sign at all, we were happy to be greeted by Anna, who was waiting for us and assisted us... We had a lovely time staying at MicroVenice. It's central, not expensive at all and value for money. I would definitely recommend it to anybody. It's clean, close to everything and the owner (Anna) is sweet. He even gave us a paper with some suggestions of things to do. :) When I go back to Venice. I'm going back there!... More

We live in the gray room upstairs with bath outside. In the mornings through the window you can watch waiters in white suits heading to work with their special dignity. Despite the fact that St. Marco square is located within 100 meters it's very quiet there. There are food store and some restaurants nearby. Overall Microvenice Guest House is a... More

I spent 3 amazing nights at the Micro Venice Guest House. I highly recommend this place as it’s extremely affordable, clean and convenient. It’s great for people that like to be independent and don’t require a concierge to plan their every move. I stayed in the Master bedroom (double room with bath). The room size is small, but big enough... More

This guesthouse had an amazing location for touring the sites in Venice. It was a quick walk from all of the main sites. It was a great value, too, and very clean and cool (A/C worked well). The breakfast was just okay, though. Even though i knew we were getting a "breakfast kit", it could have been improved. Also, it... More

We stayed at this guest house for 2 nights and we enjoyed our stay. The room was small but very clean, comfortable and welcoming. Very easy to find, few min walk from St Marco Square and the vaporetto. Would recommend it. Great value for money.

Mosquitoes, noisy, hot, smelly. Lots of noise - in the middle of the night. Very disruptive. A bit scary being that you are there all alone.

The location of this B&B is great - a couple of minutes walk to the Square - very close to the water taxi. Our room was clean, comfortable, and being very small was no issue to us at all. The service, on the other hand leaves a bit to be desired. There was quite a bit of pressure put on... More

I was a bit wary as I couldn’t find any reviews for this accommodation anywhere. It was recommended by another B&B, owned by the owner’s friend, which I had tried to book without success. We decided to book it, as it looked so lovely in the website photos - and it was! Clean, fresh and newly done. Crisp white and... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
