We only had one night in Venice (I know WAY too short) and decided to make that one night extra special. Well, we could not have picked a better place to spend that one night. We had a room with the ultimate view - right on the canal and a couple of meters away from the Rialto bridge. The room... more

My wife and I are used to staying in larger 4 and 5 star hotels in Australia & Asia (which have quite a different rating system to Europe). We were a little reticent to stay in a small hotel with a 4 star rating (by European standards!). But heartened by previous reviewers we took the plunge. And what a refreshing... more

Al Ponte Antico Hotel is a small boutique type hotel with a great location on the Grand Canal. Traveling to the hotel is very convenient by water taxi as the hotel has its own dock. It is located only steps away from the Rialto Bridge and a ten minute walk from San Marco Piazza. The view from the hotel's balcony... more

If you are going to Venice and thinking of staying at Al Ponte Antico, then don't give it any more thought ... just book a room there and be glad you did. We just got back last night from a three-night stay at this marvelous hotel after a 12-day cruise on the Ruby Princess, and I couldn't wait to write... more

The view, the view, the view! The VIEW!!!!!!! I cannot imagine anything much better than sitting on a terrace 50 yards or so away from the Rialto, sipping a cocktail and watching Venetian life drift by on the Grand Canal a mere platform-dive away. Heaven. If this isn't enough, then the rest of the hotel should be - it is... more

Echoing everything said before. I have never been anywhere before where staff were so attentive and genuinely interested in making the stay as perfect as possible. From restaurant choices to what to do (and not do!) all of the advice was to help us get the most out of our stay. Matteo is such a gracious and witty host. The... more

The title says it all, I am sure there are plenty of wonderful hotels, but this one just blew us away. My wife has put this hotel down for our weekend trips. From the moment we arrived to our departure, we were made to feel special. Thank you to Mateo, Olivero, Rosabela and the rest of the staff. I would recomend... more

I know this is the common theme of reviews of this hotel, but after a stay here you can't help but rave about the staff. The owner, Matteo, is an incredibly charismatic host and he seems to genuinely care if his guests are enjoying their stay. The location of the hotel is superb. It was easy to navigate with the... more

Just returned from a stay of 5 nights in the junior suite at Al Ponte Antico. We are well travelled and we believe that the friendliness, hospitality, and level of service provided by Matteo and all the staff were of the highest level we have encountered on any of our trips. Our stay at Al Ponte Antico made our stay... more

Was looking forward to staying here and it really didn't dissapoint. We arrived, and without speaking a word we were greeted by our first names by the owner of the hotel, which left us both fairly stunned. We were shown around the hotel by him, whilst our bags were whisked away to our room. After a quick chat to give... more
