Hotel Florida was a really nice place to stay for two nights in the amazing Venice. The staff were lovely and very happy to do whatever they could to make our stay better. They were just so nice, and great positioning near the Grand Canal.

In short, not a bad place to stay, but might try somewhere else next time. Very close to the train an bus station. Having recently spent 2 nights in late September here, found it to be an OK hotel and about the standard of everything else we look. We managed to get an en suite room, which in Venice seemed... What you see is what you get. In Italy if is says your on the first floor, you are actually on the second floor. This Hotel is very hard to find if you are not paying attention to where you are going. Look for the church that might be covered up on your left as you leave the train station.... More

Only a two star hotel, but I feel they might deserve more. On arrival, the staff were very friendly, as they were any time we came or went. The room was very nice, it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was pretty good too. This hotel is only a few minutes walk from the rail station, just... More

The hotel is very close to the train station. We stayed on the first floor ( which is actually the 2nd floor) on the other side of the area you store your luggage. Our room slept 4 people. All the beds were basically twin bed mattresses on a reinforced cot base. They were actually not bad though. I slept rather... More

1. The greatest thing about hotel florida is that it is only 150m from Venezia S Lucia train station. Once you are out of the station walk towards the left and take the first left through a small alley. It is also close to water bus station (which is just outside the train station) 2. The rooms are clean though... More

We stayed here for two nights because it so near (approx. 200 meters) from the railway station. It is a budget hotel with a warm welcome and friendly staff. The young man who checked us in was very helpful. However the rooms are in need of some upgrading. The air-conditioning was not really working, and the WIFI does not work... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
