my wife and I stayed at the Hotel Florida for 3 nights and were very pleased with it overall. It is not the most luxurious hotel and is a little dated but the location compensates , 2 minutes from the train station, 1 minute from the grand canal.. The breakfast was very nice and substantial and set us up for... More

2 minutes from the train station which is great. It is an average hotel and you can see that by looking at the price you will pay, however you will spend most of your time in Venice exploring small little Venetian streets.Got a great recommendation from the reception on where to eat - as believe me you need that now... Location is excellent...You can walk to all the everywhere...Breakfast and staff-quality is poor. The owner is not competent at all. They disscussed with us about checking out 5 min. later...what a terrible management. Can not recommend it.

Dear Guest, we thank you for the time you spent reviewing our Hotel and our staff, you wrote your point of view which is obviously impartial and in our opinion incorrect. Talking about Breakfast , you definition of poor must be very rich since fresh cooked croissant and bread, boiled eggs, ham cheese, salami, fresh fruit, yogurt, hot and cold drinks,... More

Positives. The hotel is located in a great location, close to the train station, water buses and near one of the 4 main bridges in Venice. The breakfast was perfectly adequate but basic. Ham/cheese/eggs/yougarts/breads/cereals/tea/coffees etc were available. The cereal was stale but everything else was fine. The staff were all helpful and pleasant. There are lots of restaurants and shops... More

Dear guest thank you for time you spent writing your review, it's true our hotel is not a brand new one but with us you may breathe the old atmosphere of Venice, and the sincere efforts of our staff to please our clients is our mission. Ideal location near to the train station and bus stop for the airport. Situated down a side passageway, and it was very quiet during our 2 night stay. Very friendly staff on reception. The hotel is spotlessly clean. Comfortable beds, free wifi, a hairdryer in the room. A nice continental breakfast is included. Overall a great place to stay.

The best thing about this hotel is its location: literally 2 minutes from the train station which is great in a city like Venice. I didn't want to drag my luggage around Venice searching for our hotel, hence we decided to stay here.. The rooms were quite big and spacious and we were even given a crib for our baby... More

Dear Guest, Thanks for the time you’ve spent reviewing our Hotel. We hope you had a wonderful stay in Venice. Unfortunately the space does not allow us to have an elevator here. Our staff is always at disposal for any further need. Best regards, Hotel Florida More

It is very close to train station, and it was everything we needed, a clean bedroom and bathroom with a nice breakfast and the staff is very friendly and it has a nice environment. And waking up smelling freshly baked bread is just heaven. I would come again here.

arrive without reservation and found Hotel Florida right off the train station. Staff was lovely and so very helpful in helping with a family event that occurred when I was there. Room was spacious, clean and adequate. Room I stayed in was right on a busy morning via, which woke me early on a work day. Cost was very reasonable.... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
