Stayed here with my mother. She is not easily impressed. She is a snobby Roman. She loved it. The Murano glass and the true Venetian decor was very befitting for the masquerade ball we attended. Great staff. Great breakfast. Mamma approved.

My wife and I returned to the Giorgione Hotel for our 20th wedding anniversary. We are still reminiscing about our wonderful stay there in this colourful and vibrant neighbourhood of Venice. Even though my wife already put in a Tripadvisor review for this hotel (please see Leona_Zenon, Septermber 6, 2015), I feel compelled to say that the whole experience at... More

The hotel is decorated beautifully with Murano glass chandeliers, large original painting and many antiques. But our group of 8 was on the go, and other than a full breakfast didn't spend much time in the hotel. The front desk was friendly, spoke very good English and was quite happy to suggest various restaurants within easy walking distance. And we... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in January 2015. Although we arrived in the dark, prior instructions supplied from the hotel, made it easy to find from the water taxi stop. It is easy to find in daylight too, and superbly located for exploring Venice. As soon as you enter the hotel you are drawn into the past! Very elegant,... More

We're just back from a four night stay at this hotel. It's a beautiful hotel in a perfect location within a few minutes walking distance of The Rialto Bridge and about 15 minutes from St Mark's Square. Although close to a busy square and shopping street we found it quiet. We had one of the garden rooms so were tucked... More

Stayed here in mid january 2016. The staff and service where excellent. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. For the comfort of the stay and the service provided, it was definitely worth the money and I would stay again if I went back to Venice.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
