Beware the manager Roberto Dazzo's reaction to clients who strongly complain of the unbelievable, deceitful, rude, arrogant, trip-spoiling treatment by receptionist Stefano - why does Mr Dazzo protect this individual, as opposed to finding a replacement? Shame: the rest of the staff are charming, and all surpisingly apologetic about non-receptionist Stefano. If you want to risk being challenged on your... more

We have just returned from a four night stay at the Locanda Vivaldi and must say I do not recognise the hotel as described in the previous review. The staff were professional and courteous and our room, a lagoon view double, was clean and comfortable. We heard hardly any noise from other guests and were surprised when we went down... more

I am a contributor to several travel publications and stay regularly in Venice. I had the misfortune of spending a long weekend organised by relatives of mine at the Locanda Vivaldi – never again. The hotel is tired and grotty – the grim décor and dim lighting could only appeal to someone who hadn’t been abroad in 30 years. The... more

I will try to respond you, even if my english is a bit broken. You are asking me why I don't fire Stefano? Well, it's very simple: last year we had more than 17000 guest at Locanda Vivaldi. How many complaints we received about him? 2? 3? It correspond to a 0,01% of the total. I don't think that it's...

our room looked out onto the lagoon and it was the most fantastic view. The room itself was spotless and the bathroom big and airy, with fluffly dressing gowns and plenty of towels!!! Breakfast was plentiful and varied with cereals hot bacon eggs and cold meats. Venice was just as I had dreamed it would be and locanda vivaldi was... more

Being 2nd time in Venice for the carnival, we chose once again "Locanda Vivaldi" hotel for the excellent location and staff hospitality. The hotel is ideally located minutes from all attractions with beautiful views of the Venetian lagoon and the St Giorgio island. Rooms are open and airy with traditional venetian furniture and murano lights. When sunny, you can enjoy... more

Husband and I booked a room on the Grand Canal from May 29-June 3, 2009. The room wasn't ready when we arrived (arrived on an overnight train from Vienna), but we were allowed a room to store our bags and freshen up until our room became available in the afternoon. The rooftop terrace has excellent food, the best hot chocolate... more

The location promises a lot, and barely disappoints. We arrived by water taxi from the airport (5 minute walk from the arrivals gate, and a much shorter (and more convenient) trip than all the alternatives - albeit pricey (we bought our inbound ticket in the airport concourse, 105 euros; the bloke on the way back charged us 120 - the... more

Dear Friend, thank you for your kind reply, but it's referred to the wrong hotel!!! You review is for Hotel Locanda Vivaldi (always part of our company) and not for hotel Palazzo Stern. Warmest regards, Roberto

we stayed for new year. Good service generally and comfortable rooms although a little small and decor a bit tired in places. Slightly chaotic at breakfast as the breakfast room was a bit small for all of the guests. We would rate it a three star although the location probably pulls it up. We had a lagoon view but it... more

Dear Friend, I'm sorry you were a bit disappointed with our hotel. Concerning the decor probaly it's a question of personal tastes, as you can see the most of the other reviewers find it beautifull!!! The breakfast room os not small, we have tables for 3/4 of the rooms of the hotel. Usually you find tables for 1/4 of the...

We booked this hotel as a surprise break for our family, to celebrate our eldest son's 21st birthday (he has always wanted to visit Venice!) We were NOT disappointed in any way at all. The hotel was in an ideal location, overlooking the lagoon and just 5 minutes walk from St Marks Square. Don't be put off by the plain... more

My husband and i stayed here on our honeymoon. We had an amazing trip to Italy and stayed in 2 other hotels, one in Amalfi and one in Rome. Unfortunately this was not our favourite out of the three, but i would say that's not because the hotel was bad, it was our first experience of a boutique hotel, and... more

Dear Friend, thank you for you feedback! I'm very happy you specified the difference between our hotel and any other big 4 star hotel in the world. We wanted to do something unique and with a great personal service, different from anything else! I wait to welcome you again here in Venice, warmest regards! Roberto
