Very nice hotel. Lovely little rooms with nice interior, air condition, free WiFi. Breakfest is good. Hotel is near by Rialto vaboretto stop and there is short walk to Piazza San Marcho. We could see canal from our hotel balcony. Romantic place!

I can't understand the bad reviews on here, me and my partner were so happy with this lovely Venetian hotel. We emailed prior to arrival to tell them we would be there around midnight and they replied promptly saying that was no problem. When we got there they were waiting and very helpful in giving us all the info we... More

This hotel is dated , bed was very comfortable room smelt of cabbage they have a wet room as the bathroom unfortunately it doesn't drain the water away very well think it may leak onto the carpet outside the bathroom as this was where it smelt, Iam disabled so was worried about slipping up think the hotel should address this... The Location is not to be beat.. close to Grand Canal St Marks AND alilaguna and water taxis.. Room is average breakfast was average but everything had all the necessities..Venice is not to be seen from the inside of a hotel room..not a five star but it was what i was expecting..I would definitely stay here again..

GOOD: location is super; an easy, flat walk from Rialto vaporetto stop, yet close to San Marco. We had 2 rooms; our double (really a double bed and a single) was a little tired, but it's Venice and the room was adequately equipped and comfortable -- everything in the room and bath worked fine, including the A/C. Place was very... More

Hotel is in a good location a short walk from Rialto bridge. St Marks Square a short walk in the opposite direction. Hotel is very basic but rooms are clean and comfortable. Would stay again if I returned to Venice.

My wife and I had the good fortune to visit Venice and we spent 4 nights at the Gorizia a la Venizia. We had a marvelous room with an terrace with a view of the venetian skyline. The room was spacious, and clean, and the staff very helpful. We will stay there again.

I understand that Venice is a very old city, but the hotel has had it's day. Not sure where to start…When we ask for a double bed its super annoying to get 2 singles just pushed together. Makes is so uncomfortable. The bed was terrible and felt as old as Venice. Basically laying on the springs with a massive mound... More

Lovely clean hotel with quirky rooms. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were plentiful if a little monotonous if staying any length of time. Mini bar prices cheaper than pubs in England! WiFi connection worked well. Only fault for me was absence of tea making facilities in the room.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
