We did have a bit of difficulty finding the hotel but on arrival were very pleased with the accommodations and we really enjoyed our stay at the Residenza La Loggia. The room was large and clean and the beds were comfortable. Matteo, who worked the desk and managed the hotel, spoke English very well which we appreciated since we don't... More

We have just returned from celebrating our wedding anniversary and couldn't have wished for a better hotel. Nothing was to much trouble, even having a supply of boots for when St Marks square floods. We had champagne, strawberries and a beautiful rose in our room when we arrived back after a day in Venice on our anniversary which was a... More

Friendly welcome, coupled with exemplary traditional Venetian decor, this is my fav place in Venice. So near San Marco so you really feel part of the city culture. Fresh breakfast delivered to our room after a great sleep on extremely comfortable beds. Highly recommended - it's hard to believe this is a bed and breakfast - such luxury!

If you are going to Venice, stay at Residenza La Loggia! The location is great, in the heart of Venice, the room is beautiful, bathroom is great and breakfast, served at the room, is delicious. But the best is the owner that makes sure you're very welcome and helps you in whatever you need. Won't stay in another place!

My mom and I are very happy with the location (super convenient), the room and most importantly the host, Matteo. We have great breakfast delivered to our room every morning. Host is helpful and kind. I made 2 separate bookings so had to move to different rooms during our stay it turns out to be very delightful because each room... More

Very clean 3 room residence, 3 min from Piazza San Marco. Courteous service. Small, vintage rooms but very modern bathroom. Breakfast in the room included. Not too easy to find, so make sure to have a gps or be able to ask the locals.

This is a beautiful small hotel between the Rialto Bridge and San Marco Square. It is decorated in typical Venetian decor, including a lot of red brocade on the walls. Our room was large compared with other hotels in Venice. The bathroom was compact, but had everything one needs. The hotel provides extra pillows, and giant bath towels. Breakfast is... More

This B&B is tucked away down a tiny side street and is only a few minutes walk to both San Marco Square and the Rialto Bridge. The staff gave us a hearty welcome, helped us with our bags and pointed us in the direction of a great restaurant right away. The rooms are comfortable and quite spacious and the bathroom... More

Hidden down a side street, but slap bang in the middle of the Venice, the Residenza La Loggia is a great place to stay. The staff are really warm and welcoming, and even when we were out window shopping, they spotted us and wished us a good day. On the last day when we requested breakfast early, they were more... Not sure where to start. We booked an apartment with description saying it had air conditioning, wifi etc. with only 20 steps to climb. However when we arrived, the accommodation was nothing like the pictures on the website. After carrying our suitcases up 72 steps we found there was no air conditioning, toilets didn't flush properly, not enough hot water... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
