We stayed 4 nights in the Morosini suite and were very comfortable. All staff were friendly and helpful. Only problem was finding it when we arrived - there's only a tiny plaque at the side of the door with the name on it. Look out for the dark red/pink building and you should find it. Great location for bus and... More

Stayed here one night prior to cruise ship departure from Maritima. Easy access (walking) from train station - we heeded other travelers' advice and looked carefully for the hotel (not labelled clearly) - in fact, printing out a coloured photograph of the hotel exterior from the tripadvisor photo collection meant we found it with no issue! Spacious rooms, bottled water... More

Getting in and out of Venice with luggage o'er umpteen bridges is the ultimate hassle, but this B&B (more like a boutique hotel) was quite conveniently located between the rail and bus station with easy bus transport to the airport. Upon arrival I was upgraded to a suite for no reason other than to be nice. Though not hot the... More

During the two night stay, we only saw one other couple at reception, and another at breakfast on the terrace, it was so quiet! (Yet the hotel was full) Thanks to tripadvisor review photos, we had no difficulty in locating this hotel. It was a straightforward walk from the train station too. Google map outlines the route easily. Hotel run... More

Friendly staff. Very clean and spacious room. Easy walk to the the "People Mover" to the cruise terminal and to the Santa Lucia train station and the bus station to the airport. Great location to explore all that Venice has to offer, which is a lot.

This hotel is close to the bus terminus, the main train station and the people mover if you're going on a cruise. It also has a LIFT. Most important. The hosts of this beautiful hotel cannot do enough for you. Just ask. You could have you breakfast in your room, the dining room or up on the beautiful roof terrace.

Very friendly and helpful. Great location if arriving by train or bus. Upgraded our room to a suite for free which was really a beautiful room with a great view to the canal. Nice simple breakfast is served on the terrace.

We stayed in a junior suite facing the canal on the 1st floor. It was reasonably quiet and had a good view. Very spacious with a living area and big bathroom, closet, mini fridge, electronic security card for the room and the front door. Has an elevator. Good Italian breakfast with croissant, bun, jams, fruits, muesli, yogurt, juice and your... More

Beautiful room in a beautiful location, within the city close to the train station. These were all pros. Cons include a very mediocre breakfast. One day they simply didn't come to clean the room at all. Felt the front desk didn't try to answer our questions in a comprehensive fashion and that they were just rushing us away. Major mosquito... Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
