After our cruise we were looking for a place near de P. De Roma, the train station, the cruise terminal - this B&B, found on TA, had it all. Perfect location. Every good comment on this B&B is true. Good (Italian) breakfast: some rolls, croisants, butter, jam, Nutella, some crackers, a juice and some fresh fruit. Served on the terrace,... More

Located in a quiet corner at Santa Croce, friendly staff, elevator that does make a diference when you arrive tired with your bags. Our room was really well maintained with a modern and comfort bathroom. Good breakfast that can be served in the hotel terrace with a nice view. We would definitely recommend it to friends and come back if... More

Excellently located B&B of Venice, though a bit difficult to find. Some rooms are really beautiful but room quality and size can be very different for such a conversion of a historic building. Excellent service, and the included continental breakfast which comes in a tray is very good. It has good air-conditioning, fast internet, and even an elevator. No doubt... More

We stayed here in July and loved the building, staff and location. It is 5 minutes from the station or bus station. Having read earlier reviews we took some photos with us so we could recognise the building. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were great. We had a suite and a twin. The suite was huge, as... More

I chose this small B&B for one transit night after a cruise due to high rating by other fellow reviewers, and it was a good choice. My room is small but clean and comfortable. The location is good but it may be difficult to find, and by law B&B cannot display a name sign, This small townhouse converted place even... More

Beatifully nice decorated room, good working AC, everything top! Short distance from railway station in a quiet corner of town. Excellent service! Good restaurants nearby, Francesca gave good recommendations.

This bed and breakfast is exactly what you need and excellent value for money! It is 5 minute walk from the train station but without the crazy business of the streets. The room has a super comfy bed with extra high ceilings and black out curtains so you can sleep in. The bathroom is modern and has a jacuzzi bath... More

We went back to Ca Dei Polo for our 5th wedding anniversary (July 9th - July 14th 2015) and it was just as great as our first stay in 2013. This time we were on the canal facing side on the 2nd floor and we loved the view (the Morrissini (sp?) room). We stayed for 6 nights and really got... More

I stayed at Ca dei Polo for 3 nights during my trip to Venice, and I loved it! Here are some details I loved: Rooms - Beautifully furnished. I stayed in a single room, so it was small but still offered plenty of space and was very clean! Breakfast - Wonderful cappuccino! and a delightful spread of fruit and pastries.... More

Location was great, close to port, bus and train. The room and the location was spotless. Perfect size room with a full washroom. Towels were soft and there were slippers provided. Make sure to Google address before leaving, a little had to find if not checked first. Breakfast on terrace was great, better then having it in the room. When... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
