They say first impressions count well you could not fail to be impressed with the entrance to the hotel if you arrive by water taxi. The staff were very warm and welcoming and speedily had us settled in our room which was very elegantly decorated with a complimentary drink awaiting us. The setting for breakfast is stunning as the terrace... More

Arriving by water taxi was the start of a great trip. Lunch on the spectacular terrace overlooking the grand canal. Service was excellent and I knew I had made the right choice of hotel. Elegant rooms well equipped. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast is just the best with a super selection followed by wonderful eggs benedict, and all the time the... More

Look up perfection in the dictionary and this hotel should be pictured. Stayed here some years ago and was excited to see it after the renovations. From check-in to check-out, service was top-notch, the room was excellent and it was the best experience we have ever had at a Starwood hotel. Starting the day with breakfast on the Grand Canal... A stay at this hotel is without doubt a great privilege. This was our second visit to Venice and I have somewhat mixed views about the destination. Although an obviously enchanting city, regrettably it undeniably sacrifices much of its charm with the hordes of tourists and especially day trippers and all too of often has the ambiance of a trashy... A daily afternoon respite at the Grand Canal bar overlooking the bustle of the waterway is a must. Attentive waiters see to your every need serving nibbles and cocktails! A place to see and be seen...and what a glorious interior design the lobby holds! The new Waris Ahluwalia boutique is quite a curiosity.

We stayed in a Giglio Prestige room which overlooked the quiet street near the church. The decor, fiitings and attention to detail made it very special. From the moment we arrived, service was fantastic. Check in was charming, seated rather than the usual hovering at reception. Room and restaurant service were both impeccable. Breakfasts on the terrace, watching the world... More

For a very special weekend with that special someone, difficult to imagine somewhere more heavenly. Everything in the best possible taste and with tremendous attention to detail. Breakfast was wonderful and stood us in good stead for a fabulous couple of days discovering the beautiful city.

Imagine booking into a hotel and you are greeted by a personal check in person, who then escorts you to your room (which by the way has been upgraded because it's you're Silver Wedding Anniversary). Imagine a bottle of bubbles already waiting for you. The toiletries are Aqua de Palma in the huge marble bathroom and the bedroom huge and... More

While the hotel is beautiful I am not sure I would stay here again. It was extremely expensive and not worth the cost. It was my birthday and our anniversary so we really wanted something special. Being Platinum Am Ex and Starwood Gold got us nothing. We normally get an Am Ex platinum upgrade but certainly not here. The Grand... More

We have recently returned from 4 nights at the Gritti Palace and have had the most wonderful time. The staff could not be more attentive and friendly – we were always greeted by our names whenever we came in and this personal service was rather special. The hotel is a delight – you have to accept that it is in... More
