When you go to Venice you want the Venetian style rooms but let's be honest you want them to be clean and updated. The Gritti is the perfect mix of modern luxury and classic Venetian style. Giovanni at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful and for you Starwood members they have very good SPG recognition.

My husband and I had lunch at Club del Doge. The service and food were exceptional. Our favourite dish was Spinosini with lemon, raw ham and smoked ricotta cheese -It's one of the best pasta dishes I have tried. The views of the grand canal from the terrace seating were beautiful. I will definitely recommend here as one of the... More

From the moment we arrived on our private water taxi (amazing experience!) to the moment we sadly had to leave we were treated (along with all guests of course) like royalty, they really did spoil us!! We were greeted immediately by friendly, well dressed staff who quickly helped us with our luggage! Check-In went smoothly and after travelling most of... More

My wife and I have stayed at the Gritti 3 of the 4 times we have been to Venice over the last 25 years. The only exception was when it was under this last renovation, It has taken me 2 months to think about doing a review as I have mixed feelings. My first impression is that they upgraded the... More

Our stay at the Gritti Palace was everything we imagined it to be. The list of former guests is impressive ranging from Hemingway, Churchill, Liz Tayor, Bacall and Bogart, to Springstein, Jagger, Cruise, Winslet and more. There are 82 rooms and 21 suites. The hotel was recently refurbished. It is truly magnificent The service is excellent. The Concierge Staff was... More

We do not usually venture into the rarefied atmosphere of luxury hotels, but a good online deal got us to the Gritti Palace for my daughter's 18th birthday. It was as splendid as we expected -- antique furniture, handpainted walls, elevator walls of inlaid wood. The location was truly spectacular. We watched the Redentore fireworks explode behind the silhouette of... More

I am very fussy (ask my poor husband) The Gritti Palace is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The service from the very beginning of our stay was impeccable. Complementary prosecco in our room upon arrival. birthday cake arranged for Hubby at dinner. The rooms (and the whole of the hotel) are Beautifully furnished and are spotlessly clean.... More

I took the vapareto (15 Euro) from the airport and the stop was just minutes for the hotel. Our room was at the back of the hotel, so no view, we looked out onto an other building (we had cashed in points, so I am guessing that you do not get as good a room as paying guest). We did... More

From arrival by private water taxi to departure by same, this was by far the most gracious, welcoming, and service-focused hotel that we have ever visited. Our room was sumptuous - spacious, airy with high ceilings, appointed with lovely furnishings, all dressed with silk paneled walls, silk drapes, and Murano chandeliers. The closets were finished to the hilt, and there... More

Among the most expensive drinks I have ever bought - Euros 27 for a Beer and a White Wine !! I know the Locations counts, but ...... With this place it is everything.
