A small perfectly located hotel near the Venice train station, within a 40 minute walk to St. Mark's Square. Old world charm, immaculate guest room, professional staff, outstanding breakfast service every morning with a large variety of breakfast options. Highly recommend!

With my boyfriend we stayed here for 6 nights. Got lovley room, really nice and warm! Even though our hotel wasn't around Saint Marco piazza, we were extremly glad to pick it, because location is the best. You have busy street, all the public transport there and everything you want is just within few meters. The only trouble we had,... More

A lovely hotel with friendly staff. We had a fourth floor room at the front and were away from the street noise. 401 seems to have staff in it as they came in at 23.30 and left at 5.45 every day - other than this it was really quiet. The location is great for the vaporetto stop at Ferrovia which... More

We had a wonderful two night stay here in Venice. Our fourth floor suite was spacious and we were very lucky to be upgraded to a suite which had a lounge area, balcony and views of the canals. The mirrored ceiling was a bit of a novelty! The furnishings were stylish. The hotel is in the perfect location for restaurants,... More

Our room was very nice but extremely noisy. We were facing the street. After 2 nights of noise we asked to be transfered in another room in the back of the hotel neer the garden and it was definetely quieter! They have a magnificient interior garden for the breakfast!

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in! The decor was unbelievable! The staff especially at reception were the nicest, and so helpful. Great location, could not recommend more! Great value for money too, I even checked how much I paid when I got there because the place was so nice.

Great location not far from the train station, very near Grand canal station stop. Clean. Beautiful and lovely decor fitting classic Venetian style. From our room we enjoyed the rooftops of Venice, and when windows were cracked open, the light chatter from the street below. Full breakfast was wonderful: rolls, croissant, ham, cheeses, yogurt, cereals, coffee, juices, toast... So many... More

This hotel is within walking distance from the train station. It is neat and clean and our family room was very well appointed with classical decor. Its on one of the major pathways with plenty of shops and restaurants around. No shortage of night life. We stayed there before going on a cruise.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
