I recently stayed at the Hotel Amadeus which is across the street from the Grand Canal in Venice ( we had been booked in and paid for the Hotel Prinicipe which is right on the Grand Canal). The Amadeus is supposed to be a 4 star hotel. Let me tell you it is far from that. The room we were... More

For a month we used airbnb traveling around Italy with huge success. Decided to do a hotel for last period in Venice. A mistake. Pros: Close to railway station Quiet room with terrace which overlooks courtyard Cons: No wifi - has not had wifi for weeks Staff don't care King bed is actually two singles held together by sheet Physical... We stayed here for two nights. Location: Great: Aptly located close to the railway terminal and will not be difficult to find. It is also at a walking distance from the canal and thus transportation for any location can be easily availed. Food: Decent: The breakfast was regular English breakfast though not a very large spread. The choices for strict... More

What a find! Lovely hotel right beside the main train station and a great location for exploring Venice. Firstly, the hotel staff were charming. We are smokers and asked for a smoking room, no longer available however. It was suggested that we open the windows, what a surprise, a very long terrace outside with table and chairs. Stunning. The room... More

This hotel is easily found, which is very, very important in a city like Venice. 5 minutes walking from the train station or 10 minutes walking from the airport shuttle bus station, this hotel got a strategic position to make easier your arrival / departure from Venice. Walk in Venice can be slow, especially if you got bags or when... More

We went here on a short break just the two of us, the transfers from the airport to Venice island were fantastic. The hotel was very easily found from the train station and was surrounded by bustling lanes, shops and bars. The hotel had a lovely entrance and as soon as we were inside it felt very chiq. We checked... More

Of the three hotels we stayed in in Italy, this was our least favourite. The room was fairly large, but the decor was Venetian to a fault - guilded everything and distinctly faded colours. The furniture, carpet and draperies seemed to have been there FOREVER and there was a distinct odour to the room, with notes of sewage. This odour... More

The hotel is very close to the main station and the vaporettos stand. The hotel is pretty old so expect ordinary rooms for a four star. The rooms are clean. The breakfast buffet is definitely four star though. There are many restaurants nearby but again you need to check trip advisor as some are tourist rip offs. The location and... More

Clean spacious room. Balcony in room was nice addition. Mini fridge in room helpful. Breakfast plentiful though not a lot choose from. Unpleasant smell throughout. Good central location for transport links (boat, bus & trains) and walking. Quiet hotel.

Stayed there for 2 nights. Ample room space compared to standard European room. Nice breakfast selection. The best thing is that it's very close to the Santa Lucia train station. The ferrovia water bus stop is also close by, so travelers can walk to the hotel. I felt that it justified its 4 star rating. Nothing to complain about. Would... More
