The hotel is an experience, something right out of the Golden Age of Hollywood! However, you MUST plan on a key fact. The free shuttle to St. Marks (takes 30 minutes) is only every 2 hours. We spent three days at the Excelsior on the Lido Island. This is the best hotel by far - elegant, full of history, right on the beach. Easy little boat ride to see all the sites. Loved every minute there! More
