My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Colombina for 2 nights. On entering the very tiny lobby was greeted by genuine smiles and welcome, I had reserved a canal view deluxe room on recommendation on trip advisor by travelers. We got room #301 by the elevator, surprisingly the room was large and we didn't expect that from the size... More

After doing research on Trip Advisor I selected this hotel for our 2-night Venice stay as part of our overall 9 days in Europe. What a great hotel in a perfect location to St Mark's Square. It is an easy 2 minute walk to St Mark's Square and all of the activities that surround it. It was easy to get... More

The hotel is in a great location, quick 5 minute walk to St. Marks Square, the included breakfast was average, but very nice. The staff could not be nicer or more helpful. Alessandro at the front desk was awesome! He was so very helpful to both my sister and I as we had to get in touch with our airline... More

We had a great stay at Hotel Colombina. Check in was fast, the rooms look great, and the bathrooms had Etro toiletries. The breakfast room was bright and pleasant with an adequate spread of breads, ham and bacon and eggs, and fruit. Coffee was not great but not bad. Anna Lisa arranged a water taxi tour of the Grand Canal... More

The entire staff was first rate from Alessandro at the front desk to Gianni at the bar! The rooms were incredible and it's location was perfect! Our family of 12 was blessed to go to Venice and stay at a great Old World Gem!

We stayed here for 2 nights. The rooms are small but nice. We had room 303 3rd floor it was awesome with a huge double door window that opened up to the canal. Get a canal view well worth the extra money. Very convenient to the sites and many restaurants. Breakfast was awesome. We were late one day (10 :45)... More

Everything in Venice is walking distance, however this hotel is only 3 min walk to San Marco square. Good size room, the staff was helpful and the overall experience excellent. Nothing to complain about. We left the hotel at 6:30 am, and because breakfast didn't start until 7:00 am, they prepared for us a bag with fruits, cookies, juices, toasts,... More

You can't beat the location of this hotel - just a few minutes from St. Marks Square. After 10 days in Italy, this was the perfect hotel - a very quiet and beautiful place to end our vacation. The desk staff were incredibly helpful in helping us arrange our transportation back to the airport. I highly recommend this old world... More

A wonderful and beautiful hotel with very nice rooms and a perfect location to visit Venice from. The staff was great, the breakfast was plentiful. It was well worth the cost and effort to secure a room.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
