The hotel is very lovely and only minutes from St. Marks Square. The staff was very friendly and courteous. Very close to restaurants and shopping. There was a good selection of items at the breakfast buffet. Would recommend.

We stayed at Colombina 3nts April 2015. The staff was very helpful and welcoming, The location was great being only a few minutes walk to most anywhere that you really want to see in Venice. I cant remember the room # but it was an attic type room with a private roof top deck. The room was very quaint and... More

Great location, breakfast and service! We stayed with our two year old in room 612 and had a separate area of the small room for her crib! Tip: spend the $$ to get a private boat to the hotel from airport.

I looked for a good hotel in a good location. The Colombina was perfect. Very nice room(203) with a deck overlooking a canal; and a short (3 blocks) walk to St Mark's square. Breakfast was very good; bacon, eggs, and plenty of croissants.

I got invited to the Venice Biennale, by the time I got my act together I could only get into the Colombina, as I wanted to be near St Marks.Well this is a very expensive by world standards for an appallingly ordinary hotel, staffed by the most unpleasant and unhelpful staff. I can hardly be bothered to write a review... More

One of the best hotel experiences I have had. Location could not be beaten- walk to St Marks square, surrounded by shops and cafes, canal frontage...I really felt immersed in the city. Staff went out of their way to help, I got a sense of genuine pride that they had in the hotel and the city. Beautifully restored building- loved... More

First time in Venice -- couldn't have been better! The Colombina Hotel is in the perfect location in Venice. Very close to St. Mark's Square (few minute walk), but yet quietly removed from the throngs of tourists. We had a canal facing room -- fantastic & breathe taking! So beautiful here. Our view includes the famous Bridge of Sighs and... More

The room was great. very clean. staff was so helpful and friendly. They recommended great places to eat and had good options for the gondolas and day trips to murano and burano. They event sent my glasses on a taxi boat to the train station when i forgot them in the hotel. Breakfast was good. Loved this hotel

We stayed here for five nights in the third week of April and were very pleased we had chosen the Colombina. We had asked for a quiet room and the one we had was all we wanted. A peaceful , relaxing atmosphere, well appointed. Bathroom was not large but was fine. Plenty of storage space. WiFi worked perfectly very time.... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
