We got a queen bed and a pullout sofa for our 10 yo son. The room is nicely furnished and very clean. A little small but it's Venice. The bathroom is nice and comes with a big bathtub. My sister had a triple room at the same hotel and it was nice also. From the time we arrived to the... More

First of all, this is one of the best locations imaginable. Literally just a few feet off San Marco Square. Secondly, the rooms are very comfortable. We booked a triple (traveled with our granddaughter) and everyone had enough room, toiletries, etc. We loved the big windows that could be opened to hear "the music of Venice" - or closed to... Great little hotel tucked away in the corner next to the beautiful San Marco Basillica. A great position for exploring Stunning Venice. The staff should be congratulated by the management for their helpful manner and friendliness. Although the basic rooms are small they are kept very clean by staff. Will definitely return.

This is a great hotel in a fantastic location, you couldn't ask for a better location just of StMarks square. It is situated just of the hustle and bustle of the square with all the main attractions only a short walk away. The rooms were OK, decorated in the usual venetian manner, the staff very friendly and the restaurant served... More

First impressions of the Hotel were good until we saw the room they gave us, basic is not the word, no comforts at all and our window literally faced a wall and roof it was so close to our window and looked down onto an alley, you had no view and it was stifling hot in the room. After complaining... More

Great convenient location right next to St Marks square. A 5 minute walk from the water bus. The rooms are small but clean with basic furniture and the room we had (307) was adequate but very noisy. Every hour on the hour we heard the bells from two local churches which made it impossible to sleep. We stayed in March... More

Located on the corner of San Macro the location could not be better, you can sit over breakfast in the restaurant and watch the happenings in the square. Staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us. Unprompted advice available about what might be happening each day, delightful decor and a comfortable bed of considerable size. Food is... This is a 4* star hotel right in the centre of San Marco, so the position is great. Sadly that's about it. The room we had was so small, and whilst I had heard that rooms in Venice are generally small this was just plain uncomfortable. The bathroom was so small you had to manoeuvre the shower screen to be... More

We booked a room for my son and his wife for them to spend their "mini-moon" in Venice recently and they had a fantastic time saying that the hotel could not have done more to make their visit more enjoyable!! They said that the room, food and service was perfect; hotel staff were very helpful with arranging the taxi transfers... More

Our compliments and great appreciations to all the staff. The service and respect we received on behalf of my severely handicapped adult child is the best we have ever experienced. In fact the courtesy and respect we received in Roma and Venice was the best ever - better the England and better than our home country America. The rooms were... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
