Hotel was located right on St Marks square and a 5 minute walk from San Marco vaperetto stop. Staff and service were absolutely excellent. The reception staff knew who you were when returning back to hotel and handed key over without being told the room number. Breakfast was very nice with a wide choice. Although the decor was very dated,... More

We have visited Venice many times over the last twenty years. On our last visit we decided to live it up a little and stay right on the Piazza San Marco. We were lucky to get a room at the Hotel Concordia at a great rate. It's a magnificent hotel. Very rustic and the rooms are decorated with a traditional... More

Totally enjoyed our recent stay at the Concordia. The breakfast room looks over St Mark's Basilica and it's then you realize you are right in the centre of things. This hotel would be out of our price range during the summer months but we where blessed to stay there during our winter visit. Friendly staff, great service and wonderful breakfast... More

We could see Piazza San Marco from our front window! Well appointed large room with period furniture and a modern comfortable bath. Excellent breakfast and knowledgeable, friendly staff always ready to make good suggestions--free varporetto to New Murano Gallery was an unexpected perk.

Venice can provide a great view from almost any angle. Therefore, the fact that half of the hotel's rooms face the narrow but lively Largo S. Marco, does not detract from the Venice experience. What the Concordia add to this is profesional and friendly service, an excellent breakfast buffet and a quiet bar nd reading lounge. The only drawback is... More

The hotel is in an amazing location. It's about a six or seven minute walk from the San Marco pier. Best way to get there from the airport is by ferry. A short five minute walk from Piazza San Marco and Basilica di San Marco. Restaurants and gelato shops all over the place. Hotel has good breakfast. Rooms are typical... More

This is the only hotel in Venice adjoining St Mark's Square. Ideally situated in centre of Venice and easily accessible from waterbus or water taxi station. Beautiful interior with rooms decorated in original Vienese style. Within 10 minute walk of Rialto Bridge. Staff extremely helpful and provided a porter service to transport luggage to Water Bus station - approximately 5... More

The backside of this wonderful hotel is literally on San Marco Plaza......with the entrance to the Basilica less than 30 yards away. We were able to easily walk, with suitcases in tow, from the airport water bus San Marco dock to the hotel. Upon nearing the hotel, a very friendly bellman literally ran to assist us the final steps. Desk... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
