Great location!! Walking distance to the train station (don't need to take a water taxi!) and all major tourist destinations (Max 30 min walk). The staff was helpful at the front desk in making dinner reservations. However, in an attempt to capture the elegance and history of what makes Venice special, the hotel over compensates with cheap replicas of blown... More

Me and my wife stayed for 2 nights on our honeymoon and were greeted with friendly and helpful staff, given a complementary upgrade and hotel organized for item to be returned home to Australia that we had left behind. Very enjoyable stay amazingly large selection for breakfeast and optimal location affordable stay not too expensive for the quality.

This is a beautiful hotel in an ideal location. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but clean and very comfortable with well appointed bathrooms. The breakfast is good. It's right across from the Grand Canal and a short walk to the train station or the Rialto bridge. We easily walked to St Mark's Square in about... More

I went there with my girlfriend for a 4 days holiday in Venice. The Hotel location was so good considering being close to the central train station and a main boat station, furthermore you can find loads of nice shops and cafes around it. The staff were so friendly and the hotel is incredibly clean. Daily cleaning, air condition, Wifi... More

My sister and I stayed here for 2 nights in mid-June. I think it is safe to say this is the closest hotel to the Santa Lucia station and only 15 minutes walking distance from the Piazzale Roma. No matter what anyone says though, leave at least 45 min to get from the hotel to Piazza San Marco, walking or... More

Dear Guest, we are happy to discover that your recent experience at Boscolo Hotel Bellini was pleasant and that you enjoyed the decor and comfort of the common areas in our ancient Venetian Palazzo. Unfortunately, you experienced a very busy Venice during your stay and, as usual during the highest season, we had to give priority to departures in the... More

After a week in Sicily, we flew to Venice to start the second leg of our 2 week journey. We were only able to spend one night in Venice (our friends two nights before they flew home to Canada). Funny enough, my friend and I were on TA forever trying to find the "perfect affordable" Venice hotel for our short... More

We enjoyed this hotel very much. The location is great, right beside the train station and in front of the boats that would take you all around the city. The hotel is clean and very comfortable. The staff is great. Breakfast done by Silvia and service by Giovanna is absolutely perfect! Very pleasant stay, certainly recommend.

We stayed here for three nights with a tour. We had two rooms, a double and triple. The rooms were clean and had all that we needed. We didn't spend much time in the room other than sleeping (who would in Venice??). The decor was great. The bathrooms were big enough and showers were hot, with good water pressure. Each... More

This hotel was situated a few minutes walk away from the main station of Ferrovia and no more than 10 mins walk away from the Roma Piazzale main bus area where you can travel to and from the airport. The Cannaregio district where the hotel is has a lot of great restaurants and tourist shops so it made everything very... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
