This hotel is in a great location opposite water bus and taxi stops, with great views. Extremely clean and well presented rooms. Free wifi, good breakfast and very helpful staff. St marks Sq only 5 mins walk away

Had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful little hotel. A fantastic location right opposite water busses and just round the corner from St Marks square. Service was excellent from welcome to departure, the staff could quite simply not do enough. Room 106 on the first floor was simply delightful with views over the lagoon and well worth the extra... We stayed here for a night during a road trip. The hotel is easily accessed from the grand canal bus stop (after the stress of parking your car and getting on the busy bus service!). Staff are helpful and spoke English. We were staying in another building around the corner from the main hotel which faced onto a nice church... More

This hotel was about average. The room was so tiny you could not move around the bed, The bathroom was particularly small .The staff was courteous helpful and patient for first time travelers to Venice. When we make our next trip to Venice we will choose another hotel.

Excellent location. Right on the Main Street and very close to st marks square. Walking distance to everything. We had a cheaper room and the view was nothing. For more money, we could have had a view of the canal which would have been lovely. The room rate was good, and we got it through Delta Vacations. The hotels info... More

This hotel's staff were amazing! So friendly and very helpful with queries. The hotel itself is in an amazzzzzing location - I would not hesitate with this one. Also the rooms were spacious considering it's Europe. Note that the hotel is in two seperate entrances/building, both located steps from one another. The building in the back doesnt have great views... More

If you want to stay at a beautiful hotel right on the Grand Canal with an excellent, helpful staff and an included delicious breakfast for a reasonable price, then book the Savoia & Jolanda. One of the best things is their location because you take the Alliguna water boat from the cruise pier and get off at the Zaccaria water... More

This hotel is a real gem. We could not fault anything about it. Great location, right by S. Zaccaria dock, a few minutes walk to St Marks square and excellent base to explore the city from. Great service, hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. Lovely rooms with two balcony's, walk in shower with spacious and newly fitted bathroom. Amazing... More

We chose this hotel mostly for the location, very easy to find right in front of the Vaporetto boats stop that come from the Airport, also very easy to walk to San Marco Plaza and main attractions, without getting lost (saw many reviews of other travelers who had to go in circles without finding again their hotel and since I... Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
