The staff was very attentive and very friendly. Each staff member went out of the way to make sure that everything was perfect. While I was there, breakfast was to be included at their restaurant. They were renovating their restaurant, so they offered my complimentary rooms service each morning for breakfast. My breakfast arrived at the time requested each morning... More

An enjoyable few days in a friendly hotel. We had a junior suite overlooking the Lagoon which was quite comfortable. A choice of shower or bath was offered and we chose the bath; it was quite large with a whirlpool system. Unfortunately, unless we bathed early there was no hot water. This was fixed eventually. The staff were helpful and... More

My wife and I stopped at the restaurant to have dinner; we didn't notice it was also a hotel. When we did, we checked it out and stayed there. The hotel is in front of the S. Zaccaria Station, which it's a plus, since you dont have to walk very much carrying your luggage. The room was simple beautiful! Not... More

My wife and i took my 8 month old son to Venice for a week and stayed via Citalia at the Savoia & Jolanda. We chose it for its location, both close to St Marks and the vaporetto stops. This made it a lot easier to find our way back to than some places we have stayed in the city!... More

Arrived 10th of January, nice comfortable hotel. renovations were taking place in the restaurant so breakfast was served in the room but this wasn't a problem. The work started around 7:30 am so it was a bit noisy but couldn't be helped. Room were pleasant, clean and comfortable and the location was superb.

I recommend this hotels to all Chinese people coming to Venice. Just make sure you get the right room.

The Villa Igea - an additional establishment to the Savoia & Jolanda Hotel - was an incredibly beautiful and comfortable place to stay. The concierge, Hans, was so incredibly warm and welcoming, we looked forward to seeing him every day. The rooms were intimate, with a comfortable bed and a good sized shower. The decor was pleasing to the eye,... More

Just arrived home after a 3 night break in this hotel. We arrived just after a near record breaking high tide to find reception a foot under water! The staff were really helpful. The hotel is undergoing major refurbishment at the moment, which along with flood damage meant the dining room and bar were closed. As compensation we were updated... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
