A weekend to celebrate my 60th. birthday, booked by my husband. The entrance is rather understated from the outside but the reception area is sumptuous, all leather Chesterfield sofas, mahogany, glass and huge vases of lilies. Our room on the 3rd. floor overlooking the lagoon was STUNNING. Huge bed, ornate 3 piece suite, hydro-spa bath/shower room, twin basins. Everything was navy... more

A friend recommended this hotel, altough she did advise that the rooms were slightly on the small side. I decided to book this hotel as it is right opposite the water taxi stop and therefore I wouldn't need carry my luggage around the narrow streets and as I had a 6 month old baby with me, this worked out to... more

This hotel is situated right next to to St Marks square and Doges Palace which are both amazing and a must to visit. When you step out of the hotel the water buses, water taxis and Gondalas are right in front of you so access to other areas of Venice is easy. The hotel is only small but beautifully decorated... more

Being our first time in Venice, we wanted a hotel that was easily accessible to the vaporettos since we didn't want to be carrying around luggage lost through the canals. This hotel is pretty easy to find since it's on a main street near St. Mark's Square. The vaporettos are right in front. The only problem is that in the... more

This was our fifth visit to the S&J and once again they did not disappoint. We stayed in our usual jr. suite with terrace and spent 12 wonderful days watching the sights and sounds of the beautiful lagoon from our balcony. The rooms are being kept up nicely, although some of the carpeting was a little worn in our room.... more

As yet another customer upgraded from the Villa Igea (round the corner) it occurs to me that this policy is being used to fill the less desirable rooms at this hotel. The 'upgraded' customers are pleased with the location and 4* services so don't complain. It also helps keep the conspicuous waterfront restaurant full. Call me a cynic, but our... more

I originally booked at the Hotel Igea but was told upon arrival l'd been upgraded to the 4 star sister hotel Savoia & Jolanda. The hotel is within a stones throw of the San Zaccaria water bus stop which made travel to and from the airport incredibly easy as l didn't have to drag my luggage very far (the walk... more

I arrived on Sunday June 28th after traveling for 19 days around Greece and Italy. When I went to check into the hotel and I was informed that my reservation had been cancelled by the booking agency in London. I had prepaid for this room in March and I started to panic but I was reassured that they had a... more

We went with my family of three (my two parents and me) So we stayed in a 'triple' room so our room was slightly larger and i was glad to see that they actually had a full sized bed for the third bed, not a roll away which was the case in many hotels we stayed at. The hotel was... more
