Most enjoyable stay at this well appointed small hotel in a very crowded and vongrsred Venice. Great location if you arrive bye cruise ship or train. Close to Roma square. Very helpful staff and a good breakfast. Lovely little garden which is a wonderful retreat at the end of the day.

The good thing about this hotel is that you need to cross only two staircases to reach. Its not too far from St Lucia Station. Rooms are comfortable and clean designed in style suited to Venice. When you are in Venice you can cover the whole city by foot . It is not too far from all major attraction. Just... More

Upon our departure from our cruise ship, we were overwhelmed by long taxi lines (both car and water taxis). I knew the hotel was close and upon pulling it up on our phone GPS, we decided to walk there. It was a very close walk, probably 20 minutes, and we only had one small bridge with stairs to negotiate. We... More

Ideal location, just over 2 bridges from Piazzale de Roma. Express bus from Marco Polo airport to Piazzale de Roma almost drops you outside. To get on to a ship you walk across the square to the "People Mover" (an overhead tram that takes you directly to the cruise port). Hotel rooms were excellent and very clean. We had a... More

Great position near railway, bus station and water taxi. Staff friendly, helpful and most obliging. This hotel would be my number one choice for our next stay in Venice, Rooms spotless. Beautiful garden and surrounds. Loved our stay. Rosemary M. Australia

Thoroughly recommend this hotel if you would prefer not to spend the money staying closer to St Mark's Square or the Rialto. The location is great meaning not too many bridges to walk over with your luggage. Very easy to find from the railway station and close to the people mover going to the cruise terminal. We stayed in room... More

This is our most expensive hotel in our 19 day Italian vacation. Venice is known for its overpriced hotels and I went in expecting to be disappointed based on friends' experiences. We were pleasantly surprised. It is in a great location near the Piazzale Roma. You can see it when you get off of the airport bus. Venice is a... More

Just returned from a 3 night long weekend break, wow such a lovely hotel. Upon checking in, the staff on reception were really friendly and helpful, we were given a complementary welcome drink voucher, which was a lovely touch. The reception and throughout the whole hotel is immaculately clean and a nice fresh feeling. We had a standard deluxe room... More

We wanted to stay in a convenient location during our time in Venice, as we arrived at the airport and took the transfer bus to Piazzale Roma and then needed to take the train from here to Florence. The hotel is very close to both of these places which was super convenient travelling with luggage. The staff was very friendly... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
