We stayed here a single night before boarding a cruise ship at the Venice cruise ship terminal. It is not only a perfect location for walking to the cruise ship terminal via the People Mover within the nearby parking garage, but is also steps away from the Grand Canal if you want to tour Venice as well. Our room was... More

My wife Lena and I Tommy stayed here only for 2 days on our vacation through Europe. It is located very close to everything. Bus - train terminal is in 5 minutes walking distance, yet you can't see it from the hotel. The channel with availability to water buses are just near the entrance to the hotel. Also a little... We chose this hotel mainly for its location as we were coming off a cruise ship and later flying home. The Hotel is very near to Piazzale Roma, the transport hub, so it was very easy to get from the ship to the hotel and the airport shuttle was just round the corner. The Vaporetto stop was also close by.... More

Great location if you need to be near Piazzale Roma or the cruise terminal. We had a lovely canal view from our very comfortable room. The breakfast buffet was amazing! Lots of variety: many fruits, meat, cheese, egg dishes, pastries , breads, pizza...and best of all...Prosecco! And a gorgeous garden in which to enjoy this delightful meal! I booked ahead... More

stayed two nights before joing a cruise. Very convenient location for buses and people mover, confortable air conditioned rooms, and a good breakfast. fronting a canal, garden to rear, and close to ancient venice. Would recommend if you do not want to cross numerous bridges with suitcases.

We stayed here a day before heading out on a cruise. This is the perfect place to do just that. Beautiful hotel, comfortable room, excellent customer service from staff, easy walk from train station, easy walk to cruise port, excellent breakfast, great wifi. I would absolutely stay here again, even if I weren't going on a cruise. The area around... More

Come out of the train station, go to your right, cross the glass stair bridge and on the other side of the buses is the hotel. 10 minute of less walk from the station. Staff was extremely kind and helpful. Rooms were nice. If you're headed to the airport, you just walk less than 5 minutes to the bus area... More

We stayed here only 1 night at the end of June 2015 (because we were getting on a cruise ship the next day) but we had a fabulous experience. The staff was friendly and the room was very comfortable. We stayed in a triple room with our daughter. The single bed was actually in an outer room (we had a... More

This hotel is truly amazing, from walking through the door we were made to feel welcome by a very nice gentleman,we arrived in the early morning but could not check in until the afternoon but that was not a problem because we could just leave our luggage at the hotel, when we arrived back later in the day we were... What a beautiful hotel. The decor was beautiful. Velvet wallpaper, pastel colours carved bed head. Gardens brightly coloured. Old world charm and plenty of space we had for our 2 night stay before our cruise. The situation was perfect. Close proximity to the Piazzale Roma- for S. Lucia rail station, vapouretta, bus terminal and people mover to the wharves for... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
