Just got back home after staying at this hotel. The location is perfect, 5 minutes walk from the bus and rail stations. The hotel is decorated in traditional Venice style and we found it very comfortable, the standard rooms are small but adequate. How much time do you spend in your room? We arrived before the room was ready, the... More

I stayed at this hotel on a recommendation and was very disappointed. The rooms are in severe need of renovations. They are dark and old and the furniture and furnishings are very dated. The rooms had a faint musty smell and it was in our clothes once we left. I understand that it is made to be furnished with old... More

We made a booking for 3 rooms and booked 12 months in advance to secure the rooms and a good rate. Upon check in we were Where told in a very abrupt and short tone that we where at the wrong hotel and they had moved us to another hotel. We booked the hotel for the features - location, roof... More

We stayed at the Carlton on the Grand Canal for our mini moon after our wedding in May, we found the room although it was adequate was a tad dated but the hotel interior downstairs was stunning, beautiful Venetian masks on display in the dining are and lovely cooling marble columns. Remember on departure in Venice you have to pay... More

This trip was made extra special by the staff and excellant service we recieved at the hotel Carlton on the grand. I stayed with family and my 8 year son, he was so spoilt by staff and nothing was too much trouble. Food was lovely and such a great choice for Halfboard which was served at the SKY LOUNGE at... Having arrived in Venice by train and leaving the next day on a cruise ship this hotel was ideal for our needs. The hotel is located on the Grand Canal and is directly across from the train station and close distance to the cruise terminal. The room we chose was large enough to accommodate four people (triple room + one... More

Hotel is in a good location, close to train and bus stations. It is out of the city centre but still within walking distance of all major sites. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Hotel was old fashioned, but Venice is a historic city so this is appropriate. Breakfast had a nice variety and always fresh. We had a... More

We had a lovely room on the top floor with our own terrace garden. Breakfast was lovely each morning, we had one dinner at the hotel, the food was nice but it was rather expensive for what it was and there was not a lot of choice. The staff were all very helpful and spoke excellent English.

Just got back from a fantastic stay. Hotel is spotless, staff were efficient and attentive. Location ideal for any type of stay. It took forty minutes to walk to St Mark's sq once we had worked out the best routes and with the train station opposite Day trips are easily planned. If I had one criticism it would be no... More

Hotel is right on the water front only a stones throw from Venice S.L station which suits those traveling from Rome. A few minutes walk each way and your surrounded by high quality restaurants and shops although a boat ride is required to get to the fine dining. The room was spotless and the cleaning staff are at it all... More
