venice is an expensive place to stay. as two backpackers it was the best deal we could find. its a bit of a long boat ride from the main tourist spots which is a pain but we had a good nights sleep staying in lido as it is quiter. on the upside the beach is a ten minute walk away.... more

I stayed with my girlfriend here from April 9 to 11. Provided you're fine with Lido and the 6.50 euro ferry fee you'll be paying each time you want to leave (or not, somehow I don't think anyone ever checks if you paid to board), the location is quite good. Lido seems to have a "main" street extending from the... more

despite the comfortable location if you wanna be located at Lido and the overall cleanliness of the room this hotel could be much, much better....the main problem with our stay was the staff: very unhelpful. The impression of being considered as a disposable, slightly annoing useless costumers never left us as anything we asked just seemed to be a good... more

We went to Venice for the Carnival in Febuary 2009. We left it a little late booking a place to stay, and because the Carnival is the busiest time of the year in Venice everything is more expensive than normal. Although it was a little more than we would have liked to pay for what we got, thats pretty much... more

Delighted with our stay at this hotel. Lovely and warm considering it was November, spotlessly clean and very well situated for the Vaporeta stop. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Would certainly stay there again. Unfortunately I lost my camera on the way home complete with photos of the room and exterior views of the hotel. more

I spent 4 nights here for my sister's birthday in a spacious, clean room - much better than a lot of hotels I have stayed in in Italy that cost an awful lot more. The staff were friendly without being in your face and I certainly had no complaints. Venice has become frightfully expensive and the Lido is that little... more

Ignoring the damp that spread from the bottom of the wall to the ceiling, the room was clean and spacious and we were happy. On the last night I turned the key in the door to lock our room and it snapped off in my hand. I politely approached the night manager to ask for assistance and he became immediately... more

We read the reviews here before we went and, frankly, now wonder what on earth some people expect for their money. Our room was clean, everything worked, the bed was comfortable. The location is good, being close to an excellent bar/coffee shop and near some reasonable restaurants. There is a small supermarket just up the road. It takes about five... more

Stayed at this Hotel 3 nights. It was a welcome respite from the crowds in Venice and I would definately recommend staying on Lido rather than Venice. However, this Hotel has seen better days and is in need of an update and modernization. There was no Air-Conditioning which seems to be pretty typical of hotels in this category. In July... more

My sister and I booked to stay at the Hotel Reiter because it was reasonably priced, close to both the beach on Lido and the water bus stops for getting around the rest of Venice. From the moment we checked in things started to look bad. When we asked if there was a safe where we could leave valuables we... more
