In terms of design, this hotel ranks highly among our favourite hotels - the room was incredibly charming and had a beautiful vintage design that my wife in particular, loved. Location wise, you cannot get much better with the Rialto Bridge less than 20 metres from the front door. Take note that this hotel has no reception and no signs... More

We stayed at Ca Rialto in August, for 3 nights. We arrived into Venice by train, and hopped on a taxi boat to Rialto bridge, where the hotel is located. It is in a great location, and as it is right next to the boat stop, it means you don't have to carry all your luggage up and down the... More

Brilliant location just steps away from Rialto bridge and a few steps from vaporette line 2, so no need to drag your suitcases all over the city amidst the masses and up and down over heaps of bridges! I saw quite a lot of people struggling with kids and pushchairs and cases and bags - nightmare! They should have booked... More

Me and my wife truly enjoyed our stay at this classical venetian hotel, which lies right in the middle of the city (just beside the Rialto bridge), near all the major landmarks. The included breakfast was very nice and we received many tips on where to eat and what to see by the nice hotel employees.

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night. To get to the hotel from Venice airport was not too troublesome. We took the bus from the airport to the center, then take a water bus, few stops which stops about 100 metres away from the hotel. The walkway from the stop to the hotel is up and down (light... We requested for a room with the canal view upon booking months ahead, there was no reply on this but obviously we didnt get one when we arrived. We didn't really bother though. Not really a biggie. Going to the room was through another alley behind the hotel . We were surprised that the room was so small! Only two... More

Maybe we were just lucky, but the room was so big we could invite four more friends and we'd still be able to dance waltz in there. Good breakfast, friendly staff. Very clean room, though a bit shabby furniture. But I guess that's the charm you expect in Venice. Everyone raved about the location, which is great if you like... More

Unbelievable location, quick boat trip from station. They check rooms daily after being cleaned if you require any extra towels or anything they can help you with. Always will to help and breakfast was great with the usual Italian breakfast. Love this place and its old rich decor. Will be back !!

Hotel well located just across from Rialto Bridge. Antique hotel. At the chek in assigned a room outside the main building, maybe because overbooking, we had to go through two outer streets to get to another building. Breakfast room to small.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
