I felt in between with this place. It did give me loads of pros as rooms were so vintage that i cant say i did not like them but i did get surprised as i did not expect share bathroom with other rooms. Service was great and breakfast was very limited and more french to me then Italian. I did... More

Absolutely adorable owner. She made the croissants every morning. She served them just like your grandma would. The place reminded me of my grandma's farm growing up. The smell and the atmosphere. The bathroom was incredibly hard to work with but it's an old old building. The stairs are hard with luggage. Again old building. The floor is uneven. Old... More

I traveled to Venice with my family this past summer and we were delightful with our stay here. My parents shared one room, while my two younger sisters (18 and 15) and I shared room. We took the water taxi to the Rialto Bridge, and tried to navigate the rainy corridors of the historic city to our hotel. While finding... More

While not the most modern B & B is is very clean and comfortable. Located down a lane it is a bit difficult to find but once you get your bearing it is in a great location. A bargain price to allow you to stay in the heart of Venice.

When I review I try to find a fair balance between a visitors' hopes and aspirations and the realities of place and culture. However, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. You would be wasting your hard-earned money to stay here. I had a truly terrible room overlooking an internal well; it was dark and noisy. The bathroom hardly worked... More

Great location.. Follow their instructions and you can't go wrong. The staff are brilliant and look after you really well. The decor is a little tired but the whole point of Venice is being in an old worlde experience. We can be fussy travellers and certain reviews have been overly harsh on this hotel, we loved it, the restaurant below... More

When you visit Venice remember you will not spend lots of time in your room. This place is a perfect base to visit all the sights. Old fashioned, clean rooms. breakfast in your room as no dining room but works well. Great staff and amazing location

This B&B is good. Nicely tucked away and the courtyard has a great view of the Rialto Bridge. The room I stayed in was fine and good value. You can't get any more central than this. Everything is in walking distance. The bathtub was very small and the window looked into a courtyard. But nothing to complain about.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
