This B&B is good. Nicely tucked away and the courtyard has a great view of the Rialto Bridge. The room I stayed in was fine and good value. You can't get any more central than this. Everything is in walking distance. The bathtub was very small and the window looked into a courtyard. But nothing to complain about.

The location was good, but this is also the only positive thing I can mention about this so called B&B. The room we got was nothing close to how we expected it to be (and I'm not talking about the style, size and design of the room here)! There were numerous small holes in all walls of the bedroom, the... More

We were very pleased with its classic and comfortable rooms and delicious breakfast. It has a nice terrace from where you can see the famous gondolas on the Canal Grande. It's well located for tourists as it is in the historical center of the city and very close to the Rialto bridge.

Atmospheric property in a fantastic location in a quiet campiello just off the beaten track and only minutes from the Rialto bridge. The staff were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. Before we arrived we were sent detailed directions which were perfect. As an added bonus the hotel is situated above a very nice taverna. Highly recommended.

We stayed one night in room 5, overlooking the Grand Canal. The location is central, near the Rialto bridge. Paolo and Giada are excellent hosts. The room is their largest, sleeping 5 - which was our party size. It was clean, furnished nicely. Wi-Fi worked OK, Terrace overlooking the Gran Canal is beautiful.

The location was excellent. Close to everything. The room was comfortable and the breakfast adequate. The shower was over a very small bath enclosed by a shower curtain. There is very little room to stand as the interior bath wall slopes upwards, leaving only a small square platform in which to stand.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
