We enjoyed lunch here. The restaurant has just opened. Beautiful food and reasonably priced. Kosher dairy but including fresh tuna and salmon. Highly recommended especially for kosher travelers. Loading in the new ghetto. Lovely relaxed setting and excellent service.the biscotti are a must.

The hotel is located in the Ghetto in Venice. It's walking distance to the shuls and to the entire Ghetto. Food for breakfast was decent, including kosher cheese, bread, matzoh, juice, kosher milk, and cereals. Coffee and hot water on Shabbat as well. It's not a luxury hotel, but it is clean and relatively quite. I'm not sure I'd stay... More

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and found it to be in a very good location, away from the hustle and bustle in a quiet area. Although the hotel was fresh and clean we found the heating was unbearably hot - and no means of altering the temperature as there wasn't a thermostat in the room. The hotel... More

One of the most pleasant places I ever stayed while travelling. Very nice and helpful staff. Perfect location: near all Jewish facilities (synagogue, restaurant, shop), easy to get from the airport by boat (by orange line), not far from train station and main attractions. Very clean, quiet, rooms are very comfortable and brand new. Kosher breakfast, candles for shabbat, even... More

I vacationed in Venice and was delighted that I chose this hotel for my stay. I had a stunning view of the canal from my room. Breakfast is included in the price. I slept very well in the comfortable beds and staff were very accommodating. Will definitely come here on my next visit. Highly recommended.

Giardino Dei Melograni is an oasis of quiet and a calm retreat in the noisy busy Venice. The hotel is spacious and the facilities modern. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room overlooked the courtyard rather than the canal, which meant that I was not disturbed by the roar of the diesel engines of the morning delivery traffic on... More

Great stay at this establishment Staff went above what I expected. My traveling companions and I were in need of assist while in Venice . Was guided by phone back to Hotel at night by a wonderful woman. We ended up staying another night in Venice , just couldn't drive another 3 hours back to our base. There was no... More

We stayed in the Kosher House Hotel as we were attracted to the historical location - particularly from a Jewish perspective. To that extent it did not disappoint. The Ghetto is the oldest in the world - when it was established it did not have the connotations that were latter given by the Nazis in WWII. It was a particular... More

If you keep kosher this is the only place in town with a fully kosher breakfast. However this is not the only reason to stay. The Ghetto square in which the guest house is situated, is very conveniently located for access into Venice. It is a two minutes walk to the Guglie vaporetto stop with easy access to the airport... Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
