Its 15 minutes walk from the Venice Train station. Do yourself, Take the ferry, We were the smart ones which didn't and learnt it the hard way. It may look expensive but its worth it. The rooms were amazing. The bed was extremely nice. We spent only 2 nights however we had no complains. The owner has a great sense... More

We book a double room, it was good size & clean but the " breakfast " was poor and we had to share bathroom with another 6 people, market too noisy at 6 am. TV only channels in Turkish language? Too expensive for what you receive. Why Italians get away with renting rooms at any residential building and register at... More

Extremely centrally located, it offered everything a visitor could look for: cheap, central and cheerful! The owners are very helpful and engaging, the staff also. It will be my first choice for all my future visits to this superb place.

This was our first visit to Venice, the position of the B&B near to the Rialto Bridge close to the Vegetable and fish markets was good for sightseeing and close enough to the Grand canal to make using the Vaporetto( water buses ) easy and convenient. The room was large and very clean with friendly staff. There is a shared... More

It is a very impressive BB Hotel. My single room was very clean, Shared bathroom was mind-blowing (so clean). Owner Pero is a very gentleman and cooperative. He guided me about the city and must to see places. His wife also very kind and helped me with the rail ticket findings. Wi-fi is there, but sometime in the room the... More

Reviews seem to show it was difficult to find so we took a private water taxi from the airport (E110) It dropped us off one minute from the door. Perfect! No hassle or hours spent wandering the maze of lanes with suitcases. Obviously having found our feet, the public water bus (at only E15 each) was used on our return... More

My friend and I stayed here for a few days in one of their main rooms, and it was so lovely! The room was huge and even had a door leading out to the outdoor area which we assume was for smoking. We thought the room was beautiful, the people who was working there, they were so friendly and nice,... More

We were only staying in Venice for one night and picked this hostel at random. What an excellent choice we made my only regret is not being able to stay longer. The room was huge and had lovely furniture; our room has a little balcony patio area where we were told we could have our breakfast if it was a... More

Be careful!!! Swindle! The pictures on Booking.com are just one side of the coin. There's another apartment we have been moved to without prior notification which is more distant to the Rialto Bridge. Rooms in this apartment are not even close as spacious and nice as the ones shown on Booking.com. So that is a fair swindle. This would be... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
