We were with great railway journeys holidays on a day trip from Sirmione and were led by a guide along endless winding streets and across endless bridges to this nothing special looking building with as has been said very steep stairs and only one toilet. The setting of the reception room was quite palatial and enjoyed the champagne starter with... More

A visit to Venice is a unique experience. It's an amazing place which is even better than on the photos! This hotel is part of Venice's history and as such is well worth a visit. However many of the rooms are in the annexe which although comfortable are not the historic rooms that were described on Trip Advisor. If you... More

We had an enormous suite (Suite Alcova)(about 100m2) in the annex (which is a separate building) with 2 rooms. Not much furniture in it but plenty of room to dance! We chose the room with the balcony view of the Grand Canal which is magnificent, but can be noisy as there is only a door separating you from another room... More

Enjoyed an evening meal at the Palazzetto after an afternoon sightseeing in Venice. Quite spectacular - once you have climbed the fairly steep stairs to the dining room and dealt with the queue for the only toilet available to dining guests. Beautiful reception and dining rooms and superb food, preceded by a lovely aperitif and appetisers. Mixed feelings about stepping... More

The hotel entrance is quite hidden, yet this place is a hidden gem. If you expect a hotel with modern deco and fancy high-tech stuff, then this hotel might not your cup of tea. (well, may be then Venice is not your cup of tea after all) I stayed in one of the suite, door was right opposite the front... More

My wife and I have just returned from a weekend in Venice, staying at the Palazetto Pisani. I cannot praise this stunning boutique hotel enough. A hidden gem, the Palazetto provides welcome retreat from the crowds in Venice. Superbly located, the hotel offers beautiful accommodation and high quality comfort, excellent food and first class customer service. I would highly recommend... More

We absolutely loved this hotel. Although u read the reviews and thought I wouldn't be disappointed, We were totally surprised by how amazing our room was. We felt like royalty here! Breakfast was great in a beautiful decorated room. The second morning, the gentleman brought me the same coffee I ordered the morning before without me asking. Just little things... More

We had a great time in this cute Boutique hotel dating from 16 th century. Some areas of hotel kept original decorations . We stayed in large 2 bedroom apartment which was very convenient for 5. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful . The hotel is only 10 mn walk from Plaza San Marco and is facing the main... More

I am a born and bred Venitian, but living abroad for many years, i wanted my husband (french) and my son to experience, what a true Venetian Palazzo means. I found this gem hidden behind the Conservatorio di musica looking in th Gran Canal. The room we had was clean with a nice bathroom, big shower ,very high cealing, with original... More

We arrived at Venice at midnight, which if it is the first time you get there, it can be a little scary because there's no one on the street, and we had to walk a bit to get to the hotel, but as soon we found it Kiara was amuzingly nice to welcome us, and the akward feeling of being... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
