We asked specifically if our room is air conditioned and they said it is. When we arrived we were shocked! One of the worst rooms we ever been, climbed more than 60 stairs to get to the room, only one small area is a/c with a folding sofa as a bed! Breakfast is poor, we found ants on our beds,... More

Please refrain from booking a large double bedroom suite in the annex. It has air conditioning in only 1 bedroom, and it is in the one with a really uncomfortable sofa-bed, which is really only appropriate for children. The main bedroom and the living room have no aircon, and the bed is only slightly more comfortable than the sofa-bed. Not... More

Dear Guest, we are very sorry you found one of our room uncomfortable. First of all, we would underline the fact that not all rooms are the same. Moreover, the fact that you didn't like it and that it was not fresh enough for you does not mean they are uncomfortable. Indeed, as far as we remember, you had a... More

We got to venice by train. Had the tickets for Venice Mestre (its far from the central Venice), but we found out that we do not need to disembark at Mestre, we can get off at Venice SL. Bought a day pass for 20 odd euros for vaporettas (water taxi), and went to accademia station, then walked to pisani from... More

We were a little apprehensive due to the mixed reviews but we're so glad we stayed here. The room had a great view of the grand canal and was a real Venetian experience. We stayed in the annexe and the furniture was a little eclectic but the privacy, the view and the location are great. Would stay here again.

The best way to experience Venice is to stay at one of the old palaces on the canals. We chose Palazzetto Pisani and were booked into an old palace suite right on the Grand Canal. It was very large with two bedrooms, a living area, a dining area plus kitchenette. Walk in shower, separate WC and large sink/vanity also provided.... More

Room was amazing! We had two beds and a library with loads of space and a large shower room. Air conditioning was effective and the breakfast was delicious in an exquisite setting. The only complaint was that although the breakfast was included in our price, we were also asked to pay again. When I complained, I was not believed but... More

We stayed at their Double Deluxe room for a night in the main building. No views on this room but was nicely decorated. It was spacious, clean and comfortable although the bed was a little too bouncy for me. I was told that the wifi was acting up at that time so I was provided another but didn't quite reach... More

Great location, close walking distance to everywhere - Rialto, San Marco Square and train station. We stayed in the 'Double Deluxe Doge' room which was nice but the bathroom had no shower, just a bath. It was also next door to the piano which was loud.

We were charged for a luxury suite and ended up in the attic, decorated with plastic and discarded decorations from elsewhere. Very disappointing! View awful, although pictures showed grand views. This is why we upgraded to get the view. Stairs carpeted and dirty.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
