Room was amazing! We had two beds and a library with loads of space and a large shower room. Air conditioning was effective and the breakfast was delicious in an exquisite setting. The only complaint was that although the breakfast was included in our price, we were also asked to pay again. When I complained, I was not believed but... More

We stayed at their Double Deluxe room for a night in the main building. No views on this room but was nicely decorated. It was spacious, clean and comfortable although the bed was a little too bouncy for me. I was told that the wifi was acting up at that time so I was provided another but didn't quite reach... More

Great location, close walking distance to everywhere - Rialto, San Marco Square and train station. We stayed in the 'Double Deluxe Doge' room which was nice but the bathroom had no shower, just a bath. It was also next door to the piano which was loud.

We were charged for a luxury suite and ended up in the attic, decorated with plastic and discarded decorations from elsewhere. Very disappointing! View awful, although pictures showed grand views. This is why we upgraded to get the view. Stairs carpeted and dirty.

We returned to PP after having a wonderful stay last summer. The lobby and dining room are stunning and the best part of the hotel. We stayed in the main PP building and it was memorable. The entire staff, namely Luca was great. That's why we returned. This year we saw images for their Suites "annex" online and so we... More

We stayed in a large 2-room suite here on a recent family vacation to Venice. Our suite, which was in a separate building across from the main hotel, was quite large with plenty of room for the 4 of us. We had a medium-size window (which opened) overlooking the Grand Canal, but there was only one chair tall enough for... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights on May 2015. We chose this hotel because of its position on the gran canal and the history of the building heavily advertised on the htl website. We arrived in the evening and I could not avoid noting the sloppy reception. We were assigned to the BOVOLO suite, which is not in the... More

We were with great railway journeys holidays on a day trip from Sirmione and were led by a guide along endless winding streets and across endless bridges to this nothing special looking building with as has been said very steep stairs and only one toilet. The setting of the reception room was quite palatial and enjoyed the champagne starter with... More

A visit to Venice is a unique experience. It's an amazing place which is even better than on the photos! This hotel is part of Venice's history and as such is well worth a visit. However many of the rooms are in the annexe which although comfortable are not the historic rooms that were described on Trip Advisor. If you... More

We had an enormous suite (Suite Alcova)(about 100m2) in the annex (which is a separate building) with 2 rooms. Not much furniture in it but plenty of room to dance! We chose the room with the balcony view of the Grand Canal which is magnificent, but can be noisy as there is only a door separating you from another room... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
