One of the best hotels in Venice. Very close to the train station (less than 2 mins walk) which makes it also close to water taxi stops the bus stop as well. The hotel is very clean. Staff are very friendly and the breakfast served is really amazing. Me and my family have enjoyed our stay here and would definitely... More

The best part of the hotel was the location. It's two mins walk from the station and the water taxi stop which was very convenient. The rooms are cute and decent size. The staff was very helpful and they helped us plan a trip to murano burano. The breakfast is average, no eggs or scrambled eggs. Overall good experience.

Rooms are clean, bed was good. The staff spoke English very well. They offered to help with reservations for restaurants and printing our boarding passes. Also, they gave excellent tips for discovering Venice. Breakfast was very good with excellent cappucino. Nearby trainstation and Vaporetto.

We stayed one night before a cruise. I picked this hotel primarily for its proximity to the train station, Piazzale Roma, and the vaporetto stop. Am I glad I did. The room (superior double) was spacious, clean, and quiet. It faced a courtyard. We got there early and our room was ready. We were on the 3rd floor (their 2nd)... More

Great hotel.....clean room, nice and helpful staff and yummy breakfast. The best thing is the hotel is just 3mins away from the train station. Very helpful staff as we wanted to reserve a table for dinner and I have emailed hotel to help a week before we arrived , staff promptly assisted me and reply my email. I always look... More

I really enjoyed the stay here. After my Trafalgar tour ended I moved from a much more expensive hotel on the canal side, to this hotel just a few doors down from it on a side street. It is only a couple of minutes walk from the train station - Venezia San Lucia. The receptionist, Ilaria, was extremely helpful, giving me... More

This was by far the best hotel we stayed in during our whole trip. The location was perfect, only a few minutes from the bus and rail station and the water taxis. It was very quiet and the room was fantastic. They unexpectedly upgraded our room to superior double because we were staying 3 nights. It was a gorgeous room... More

We were on a multi-country train adventure and this was one of our favorite hotels along the way. The staff was amazing and the room was just right. It is an older style hotel but it had everything we needed. The breakfast was great. The location was perfectly situated for a nice walk in the city and a very short... More

We came across this place by chance, as we haven't booked any hotel and as soon as we arrived in Venice, this was the first place we checked. And what a place! Beautiful, cozy and unforgettable for a romantic escapade in one of the most beautiful places in the world. The staff was very helpful and kind, advising us the... More

They make you feel so very welcome at this small hotel in Venice. From the friendly front desk staff to the fabulous elderly man making cappuccińos for you in the morning at breakfast, you always feel more than welcome. The location is fantastic right near the train station but down an alley so fairly quiet. We had a quad room... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
