Visit is Enjoyable Rainy and Sweat. But a Rate of Hotel is too high but it is Clean and historic with a beutifull and Romantic view of Rialto Bridge and Canal of Sea. Our stay is Comfortable and Rememberable.

Hotel Rialto is set on the Grand Canal directly next to the Rialto Bridge. Location wise it doesn't get much better as you are within easy reach of the main attractions and if you are feeling tired the vaparetto stops are right outside. We had a beautiful room with a view of the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge. The room... More

We are a family of four, middle-aged parents and our college-aged kids, independent travelers from the US. Recent trip around Italy, including Venice. We found this to be a nice hotel. Charming and old-fashioned, rooms a bit small but clean and comfortable, the bathrooms modern and updated. We did not spring for a canal-view room, so our windows opened over... More

For me, Venice is ‘the’ most exciting city in the world. Mind you, I live in New York. But it doesn’t compare. There is so much mystery here, there is so much magic in the air, there is so much history, tragedy, drama, comedy and inspiration that, for a playwright like myself, sitting by the huge windows of the Rialto... The hotel is located right next to the Rialto Bridge on the Grand Canal. We booked a water taxi from Marco Polo Airport, and it took us to the landing stage right outside the front door of the hotel. The rooms are comfortable. The breakfast is fine. But the staff at reception are second to none. They were pleasant and... More

My son wanted to go to the city were the streets are full of "water" so we went, I planned on staying at the Rialto hotel because of the short visit (2 days) and because it was centrally located at Rialto Bridge. The hotel is very classic and the staff is very customer oriented. It was a very good choice.... More

We stayed in the Rialto for two nights this January and the hotel exceeded our expectations. The hotel is located a stone's throw from the Grande Canal with quick and easy access to the Gondola rides and Waterbus/Water Taxi's. You can walk everywhere in a short time but St. Mark's Square was closer than we thought - less than ten... More

We were in the Junior suite with balcony overlooking the grand canal! Wow what a location. Loved every minute of it. This hotel was first class from arriving to leaving all staff very helpful and friendly.

The walk from the train station took around 25 minutes, which provided sufficient time to experience the small alleys, bridges and small shops. The hotel was very well located, next to the bridge and canal. When entering the lobby, I was well greeted and helped by a hotel employee. The rooms were pretty tiny especially the bathroom but I only... More

I was in a single room, it is quite little even for one person, but its casual for Venice and for Italy in whole. Wi-fi is not reachable in a room, but its ok in a lobby. Hotel has quite good location, but if you want to be near Piazza San Marco, its not the case, but you can still... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
