Probably the best location in venice. The staff was not overly friendly but certainly polite and helpful enough. Plus i find it quite rare to find smiley, friendly staff anywhere in northern italy anyway. The rooms are a bit dated but are certainly okay. Would reccomend this place purely for the great location.

We stayed two nights at the Hotel Rialto. Our two reasons for choosing this hotel was its Venetian charm and location. Its location directly on the Grand Canal made for beautiful views from our hotel room window. We booked a Junior Suite with Canal View and it did not disappoint. Yes, the Rialto Bridge to the right of the hotel... More

I would like to warn people about this hotel. When we arrived we got a really bad room. It wasnt clean, the hair dryer didnt work and the electricity stopped working several times. When we complained about this the receptionist was very unpleasant and unhelpful. The standard was definitily not a 4 star even though it was claimed so. After... More

Dear Guest, I apologize for the inconvenience encountered in the assigned room when you arrived. For reasons you exposed, the Reception changed you the room after we offered you the chance to choose between three rooms of same type of room you booked, while you demanded for a room overlooking the Grand Canal. Reception was not able to grant your... More

Brilliant location just steps away from Rialto bridge and a few steps from vaporette line 2, so no need to drag your suitcases all over the city amidst the masses and up and down over heaps of bridges! I saw quite a lot of people struggling with kids and pushchairs and cases and bags - nightmare! They should have booked... More

Stayed at this Hotel in early June 2015 for four nights in a corner Junior Suite. Spectacular views, from the front windows across the Grand Canal and from the side window directly onto the Rialto Bridge, a mere 50 metres away. Inclusive breakfast was taken in a very scenic downstairs restaurant attached to the Hotel, but very very ordinary fare,... More

we had been looking forward to our 4 day stay in Venice for almost 12 months, I'm writing review night before we check out! Our room was tiny to say the least, just on 2 adults outstretched arms! DARK lights needed to be on during the day if you were in room, bathroom, well let's just say you wouldn't want... More

Staff was fantastic, very friendly and helpful. Location was superb, very central next to Rialto Bridge, and next to the Alilaguna and ACTV Rialto stop. You can get the Alilaguna directly to/from Macro Polo airport for 45-50 minutes, right outside the hotel. However breakfast was average, could have had more choice, especially with the hot options.

By far the best choice for location of a hotel in Venice. The Rialto ferry stops right outside the hotel and the wonderful sights and sounds of Venice are at your fingertips. Easy to get to from the train station and also easy to get to the airport from your Rialto access point. Make sure to request an upper story... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
