I was a little disappointed that thy were working on the bridge outside the hotel but overall the hotel was in a great location from everything we wanted to do. Breakfast was outstanding as well. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

We booked two Junior suites with Grand Canal view. We were extremely pleased to one room (Junior suite 121) but we very disappointed with another room (Junior suite 123). Both of them were booked with Grand Canal view but only the junior suite 121 really had a good view. Look at those photos enclosed. There were big construction works of... More

Thankfully stayed for only 2 nights. The only positive was the central location. Negatives were as follows: Staff were abrupt and not helpful - checkin was extremely abrupt. When asking for information about tours there was little to no information - we resorted to Google to secure tours etc. When trying to settle our bill the night before a very... More

We spent 5 nights at this hotel, for a family visit to Venice. The staff where very helpful the hotel was very clean and the location on the grand canal was perfect for looking around Venice. There was plenty of restaurants close by including the hotels own to eat at each day. A wonderful holiday thank you Hotel Rialto.

If this is your first time to Venice, this is the perfect place to stay. Why you ask? Well all around Venice, there are signs telling you how to get to the Rialto Bridge so as you walk around the maze of alley's in Venice you can just look for the signs pointing you back to the Rialto bridge. This... More

Stayed one night (wish it could have been more) in the honeymoon suite room 402 overlooking the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge. Obviously very crowded but we were able to observe the crowd from our balcony.

We chose this hotel for it's location. The Biennale was our reason for visiting Venice and the ferry was right outside our door. The rooms in the hotel are small and comfortable and very quiet and clean. Our window looked out canal side and brought in lots of light, it was also fun to see what was going on in... More

We were really disappointed when we arrived at the hotel, after paying a premium for the Suite with a balcony overlooking the Rialto Bridge, when we discovered it was undergoing building work. Not only that, the other side of the balcony there was building work with big machinery doing something on the canal. We think they should have told us... More

The hotel was well situated only a few steps away from the ferry stop. The room was small but totally adequate as we only wanted a standard double room. The hotel was an easy walk to San Marco square, and although you walked through narrow alleys it felt totally safe.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
