I was quite disappointed .I don't mean to sound like a gloomy gus but this is to warn all travellers .They didn't have instructions for twin beds which I specifically asked on hotels.com.The front office staff was a bit rude and behaved as if he is doing us a favour by giving us a twin beds despite specifically asking for... We stayed in Rialto Hotel during our Honeymoon trip around Europe. Eventhough it was expensive in our standards, but the stay was well worth it. The moment we opened our room window, we can see the famous Rialto Bridge just beside, and the Canal stretches as far eyes can see. It was simply breathtaking! A simply perfect picturesque view that... More

Stayed only one night in this very nice hotel very friendly and helpful staff members, the rooms are very well furnished and rooms are very quiet no street noise, the breakfast on the front side of the hotel is nice and you overlook Venice canal with all the tourist walking past.

You cannot go past the Rialto for location in beautiful Venice - it is located right next to the famous Rialto Bridge. Everything is within walking distance - Rialto Bridge, Rialto Fresh Food Markets, San Marco Square, Doge's Palace etc.. Our room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. The included breakfast was perfect and the doughnuts, croissants and... More

Being so close to the waterfront abd Rialto bridge is certinally advantage. The charme of the old Venice experinced over and over again. The stuff could be little more service oriented. During our 3 day stay, we couldn't overhear sighs when extra pillow or towel requested. But, overall it was nice experience, we would come again.

This is a beautiful old quaint hotel which adds to the whole experience of being in Venice. It is centrally located - right next to the Rialto Bridge & it is an easy walk to just about everywhere. The room was large & comfortable in a very old world style. The hotel staff were VERY helpful & prepared to give... More

I have been to Venice several times and it is like coming home to a magical place like no other. The Hotel Rialto is in a supreme location beside the Rialto bridge therefore there is a lot of foot traffic but the noise is not a bother. It is very exciting to be in the centre of such wonderful attractions.... More

We stayed at Hotel Rialto across from the Rialto Bridge! It is very centrally located close to everything. The hotel is about 500 years old. The room was a little outdated but I guess it's to uphold it's historical status. However, the room was large and comfortable. The bathroom was clean! My only complaint is that our room was very... If you want helpful, friendly service, a sweet charming room and a fantastic location directly overlooking the infamous Rialto Bridge- this is your place. Venice is a magical place all on its own, but this hotel made "la dolce vita" for our amazing trip! The men at the bell desk give you tips to live like the locals... We took... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
