Beautifully central and easy walk from public transport. The desk staff brilliant, especially Nicolo, and faultless food recommendations. No problem in recommending it to folk who think 4 star is the only way to go, this hotel was just fine.... all rooms in Venice are small.

I have never been confronted with such poor restaurant service as in this Hotel. The Breakfast Buffet was extremely poor, always out of bread and cheese, juice and when I asked the waitress to provide extra cheese and bread on the Buffet she starred at me as if I am asking her for too much!! Then she put on the... More

Great location and very nice typically Italian hotel. Very accommodating staff. Nice rooms and cute courtyard. Close to everything. Definitely would stay here again. One of the favorite places we stayed in 3 weeks in Italy. Great restaurants less than 5 minutes walking distance.

My wife and I along with our adult son stayed here from the 17th-21st Aug. What a wonderful hotel ! .The location is so close to S.Marco square and also S.Zaccaria water bus and taxi stop restaurants and shops . The hotel staff are all very welcoming and helpful and seem committed to ensuring you have a wonderful stay. We... More

Beautiful hotel with a perfect location just minutes from S. Marco square. Very friendly staff, comfortable rooms and good breakfast. The only downside is the noise at night from the streets. But if you want to be in the touristic center of Venice that's what you have to accept.

My wife and I stayed here to celebrate our fifth year wedding anniversary. The hotel is in the perfect location to San Marco Square, with plenty to see and do a stones throw away. We were really pleased with the helpfulness of staff who always greeted us with a smile and genuinely cared about us. The breakfast and all day... More

I was there with my wife last week (11/08/15) and it was simply perfect. Excellent location, just few meters from Piazza San Marco and another few from the Vaporetto station. Inside the hotel was always fresh and clean (totally needed when having 36°C outdide) and people were kind at any time. If i have to go back to Venice i'll... More

Whilst driving around Europe we decided to head to Venice... We read reviews and found Le Isole to have good reviews... It was faultless.... We were meant to stay for one day but then after the first night we booked again for another night ... Good points: - Excellent location. - Staff are amongst the politest we have witnessed. -... Entry to this hotel was next to one of the canals. It was very well located close to St Mark's square. Rooms was a little small but well furnished, clean and well kept. Cable TV had the option of being watched in English which was great! Mini bar was replenished every second day and was free which was a plus... More

Beautiful hotel. Fantastic location (2 mins walk from Piazza San Marco on a quieter canal side street with gondolas passing by. Also 2 mins walk from San Zaccharia vaporetto stop). Helpful and friendly staff. Our room (Burano) was perfect. Beautifully decorated, generous size, lovely high ceilings, and quiet and cool on a hot summer's day. Breakfast also good. We hope... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
