It started with the room, it was great; the bathroom and room size were both quite adequate in a place where space is a premium. The breakfast each morning was first rate, and Elena was so very helpful, happy and caring. The front desk staff all were first rate. We really enjoyed the center courtyard that was always in shade... More

The cappichino and eggs she prepared were wonderful as was she. The room was great and the location, although a bit hard to find from our water taxi, was convenient. Clean and we'll appointed room. Night front desk help was nowhere to be found and ealier in the evening he wasn't as helpful as daytime staff. Overall...great choice!

We spent a little more and went for a deluxe room , was well worth it!! We had great space room to unpack and room for suitcases. This hotel is right... More

We spent three nights at the Hotel Le Isole and had a lovely view of the square. The room was charming, comfortable and had everything we needed. The mini bar was included, free wi-fi, umbrella's. The service was excellent, always cheerfully greeted whenever we left or returned, room was always well cleaned and stocked and our lovely breakfast host was... More

When we look for hotels, we want something with a location near major sights, clean rooms, and an attentive staff. We got all that with Hotel Le Isole. It is located just a 5-minute walk to Piazza San Marco, and a major vaporetto stop is right around the corner. Prior to booking, I reached out to the hotel several times... More

After reading through many reviews we finally settle on Le Isole four our four day trip to Venice and can honestly say we regretted nothing about our choice. Hidden away alongside a narrow canal two minutes walk from San Zaccaria vaporetto stop, from the waterfront head up the Calle De Vin just to the left of the Hotel Savoia e... More

I just came back to US from a trip to Europe including 4 countries (7 cities). This hotel is the best among all. As many reviewers mentioned: excellent location (very close to San Marco square and water bus stations); friendly staff; excellent services; free mini bar, etc. The hotel room is very nice and clean, spacious comparing to many other... We had a lovely room with a view of a canal, with gondolas going by. The staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful with nice touches like fresh milk being put in our fridge after we had asked for it once. Good restaurants and bars close by, not too busy despite being so close to St Marks Square. Would highly... More

This hotel is a real gem. The staff seem to give everyone VIP service. Our room was the tiniest room I have ever stayed in, but the location made up for it. Gondolas were going by right outside our window. 5 minute stroll from San Marc's square. Book early if you want to get a room here.

Fabulous hotel. Attentive staff, beautiful rooms, lovely breakfast and amazing location. Would absolutely recommend this hotel to all travellers. very competitively priced. We'd love to return. Facilities in room were exceptional. Very, very near to St Mark's square but not noisy.

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
