It was so hard for me to make a choose which hotel will be suitable for me, as it was my first time in Venice I wanted somewhere in the heart of the centre which will make it easier for me to explore Venice, and after reading reviews this hotel is worth every penny and made my weekend break amazing!... A delightful, small hotel which feels very personal, and where nothing is too much trouble. The staff are all very welcoming, they make you feel they are glad you are there, and they enjoy taking care of you. Anything you want, just ask. Breakfast was lovely and varied, plenty for coeliacs, gluten free muesli and madeleines provided, and I'm sure... More

This was a one of those rare boutique hotels that "punches much higher than its weight". There is nothing I could fault with the service from front of house through to catering. The decor, the quality of the furnishings and towels, proximity to waterbus and famous attractions all made this stay exactly as we would want. For long stays we... More

The hotel is very near place St Marc and water-bus San Zaccaria. The staff is very kind and always ready to answer any query. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. They are also calm. A place to recommend.

Wonderful room. Staff are friendly and helpful and location was great. Breakfast was fantastic and overall no complaints. Free minibar! Very nice bathroom comfortable beds. Very nice garden area though too cold in January to spend much time there.

Great location, really friendly staff who let us check in at 930am after our 24 hours of flying. Amazing breakfast, great room and fantastic shower. We were really happy with everything about our stay here!

We stayed here over Christmas and it was fantastic! A great location, comfortable and clean rooms with friendly and attentive staff. It's literally 5 minutes to St Marks square and yet it has a quiet location. Breakfast was a lot better than most continental breakfasts and included eggs, bacon and sausages - also available until midday which was great for... More

Perfect location and excellent service! Rooms were clean. Breakfast was good and love how it lasts til noon. They provided milk for my toddler. We were allowed to use the eating area and utensils during the day. They had drinks and cookies as snacks throughout the day. We actually stayed in August 2014

Hotel Le Isole was a fantastic hotel. It's location was ideal right near the San Zaccaria Water Taxi stop and all local tourist spots. The room we stayed at the hotel was very clean and comfortable. With fully stocked beverages in the fridge! Breakfast at the hotel was awesome. With great choices and quality food. The staff at the hotel... More

Arrived at Marco Polo Airport mid morning on Christmas Eve. Since there was 4 of us we had pre arranged a water taxi for 100 euro. The much slower Water bus would have been 60. We were dropped of in St. Marks area a 5 minute walk from the hotel. There is a small canal Gondola's pass down right outside... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
