After reading through many reviews we finally settle on Le Isole four our four day trip to Venice and can honestly say we regretted nothing about our choice. Hidden away alongside a narrow canal two minutes walk from San Zaccaria vaporetto stop, from the waterfront head up the Calle De Vin just to the left of the Hotel Savoia e... More

I just came back to US from a trip to Europe including 4 countries (7 cities). This hotel is the best among all. As many reviewers mentioned: excellent location (very close to San Marco square and water bus stations); friendly staff; excellent services; free mini bar, etc. The hotel room is very nice and clean, spacious comparing to many other... We had a lovely room with a view of a canal, with gondolas going by. The staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful with nice touches like fresh milk being put in our fridge after we had asked for it once. Good restaurants and bars close by, not too busy despite being so close to St Marks Square. Would highly... More

This hotel is a real gem. The staff seem to give everyone VIP service. Our room was the tiniest room I have ever stayed in, but the location made up for it. Gondolas were going by right outside our window. 5 minute stroll from San Marc's square. Book early if you want to get a room here.

Fabulous hotel. Attentive staff, beautiful rooms, lovely breakfast and amazing location. Would absolutely recommend this hotel to all travellers. very competitively priced. We'd love to return. Facilities in room were exceptional. Very, very near to St Mark's square but not noisy.

Artfully attired rooms, gracious staff, excellent breakfast in pleasant room onto small courtyard, and complimentary beverages in room and lobby. Value and quality! My husband and delighted in the comfort and beauty of the efficiently spaced room, with beautifully copper/gold colored tiles inthe shower. Our surroundings felt very soothing, and window does well with muting sound. Very quick walk from... More

Great location, easy to find, close proximity to St. Marks square, and excellent service. The hotel was located only a few minutes from the San Zaccharia port. The front steps of the hotel entrance are only a few feet away from the canal. We left very early to catch a boat (Alilaguna Blue Line at 3:55 am) to the airport... More

This hotel is very solid. Location is perfect, a 5 min walk to St Mark and a 3 min walk to public transportation. Gondola services right outside of the hotel. Clean and comfortable room, also spacious with the exception of the bathroom. It was very small and no countertop space to put our toiletries. We had room 201 "San Giorgio".... More

Great value for money. Great location. Friendly staff. Breakfast far better than expected. Access to the hotel by water taxi was easy and staff arranged our connection to cruise line. I picked this from Trip Advisor and was not disappointed.

We recently stayed at Hotel Le Isole in Venice during our Christmas vacation around Italy and the UK. Having lived in the EU for a few years and travelled to Italy many times we are familiar with differing accommodation however we normally stay in 5 star hotels in Australia, the Pacific and Asia so our expectations are high. On this... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
