Close to train station, ferry station is in front of. Just too convenient to walk, to feel the atmosphere with small markets and little souvenir shops. Venice is beautiful itself but the hotel makes it even better.

Lovely hotel, rooms are a fair size compared to others we have used in Venice, breakfast was basic but more than sufficient with warm croissants each morning, staff very friendly and helpful. The area has many bars and shops that are not over expensive but check prices as they can vary dramatically from one bar to another!

Excellent location & terrific staff. We unfortunately had to report a robbery to police. We would never have found the obscure locaton of the police station without the persistent help of our hosts. Everything else was great.

Very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The room was big, a/c was running well, wifi was good and breakfast was great. It is right next to the train station so you can throw your stuff down and get out in Venice and explore! They will hold your luggage in a room behind the desk so you can enjoy venice on... More

I was able to reserve a room with an small deposit which I was told would be refunded if I had to cancel. My single in fact had a double bed, was clean - but the absence of an elevator is a handicap, although they do have a bagage handler available. The breakfast was pretty good, but contrary to other... Good location but hotel very poor. Staff at recepton either incompetent or very rude. This despite the fact that we spoke Italian. Definitely not good value for money and would never stay there again.

The hotel is closely located to the Santa Lucia as well as the boat stations. Apart from the location however I found this to be an average accommodation. Once we landed on the beds they started bending inward. The thick blankets were kept inside the wardrobe and were dusty. Breakfast was ok. However the price that we paid was very... More

Very good location, close to Santa Lucia railway station, canal, Jewish Quarter, shops, restaurants. Near the "vaporetto" station, can easily reach any place in Venice. Clean and convenient room. Good value for money. Room was heated, bathroom clean. Breakfast is acceptable. I would glady stay there again.

The hotel is located very near the Sta. Lucia Train Station and surrounded by shops. Taxis and buses are also available nearby. This is perfect for short stay and relatively cheap considering that it is in Venice. The downside however is that it has no elevator (lift) and the wifi is only available at the lobby. I Haven't tried their... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
