We had a wonderful stayl Staff was friendly and helpful. Easy access from the airport via Aliaguna, close to vaporetto and shopping and train. It is not fancy hotel but nice and clean. Although it does not have an elevator, there are rooms on the street level. Nice breakfast. Not a very good location if cruising due to access to... More

We took the train into Venice from Milano. This hotel was within walking distance of the train station. It is also located close enough to walk to the Vaperetto, which is the easiest way to get around by boat in Venice. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was good. It is your typical breakfast served in Italy, cold cuts,... More

We stayed one night in this small family run hotel. It is fairly basic but was clean, comfortable and in a great location just off the Canal di Cannaregio near the Guglie vaparetto stop. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a standard room with ensuite - great shower and good quality toiletries. Breakfast was a small selection... More

We had a great stay at Hotel Hesperia in June 2015. The room was very clean and bed comfortable. The staff were very friendly and keen to help and answer any questions we had, including travel directions. The breakfast was nice and the outside seating was welcome. The hotel is ideally located on the Vaporetto ‘Guglie’ station from the airport... More

Booked this as a package with double bed en-suite. The bathroom facility is actually NOT en-suite, it's out on the Hall, with own key. Watch out for rom 107!!! Bizarre. We were offered an alternative of an 'Appartment' on the street outside, that was like a dark box Dining room too small when it's busy for breakfast, had to sit... More

We appreciated the very helpful and friendly atmosphere, nice and fresh rooms. Canal view and close to vaporetto stations. Good breakfast and lovely little roof terrace! The hotel had a good central location without being in the most turistically overloaded areas. Felt like coming home after an intensive sightseeing day all over town!

This is really a lovely place, ran by two sisters in a excellent way. The rooms are very clean and the food is very good; they give you free wifi for the first twenty minutes and the whole stay is an extremely pleasurable experience. We will be denifinetly back again.

We booked Venice May 2015 for honeymoon. After much hotel research we booked the Hotel Hesperia and I am extremely glad we did....what a wonderful hotel and what lovely staff! We arrived on a Thursday afternoon, walked from the bus station and were at the hotel within 10 minutes.. very easy to find! The hotel is located on a quiet... More

We had a wonderful time staying at the Hotel Hesperia. The staff was amazing, friendly, helpful. Their location is convenient and easy to get to and from the airport by water bus and the train station is close by. This was the main reason we first chose it since we had a lot of luggage to carry with us. But... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
