I was very pleasantly surprised by my stay here. Can't beat the location, less than 2 minutes to St. Mark's square, yet quiet enough to get a great nights sleep. The front desk staff remember your name and are always available to help. Could provide a better city map (a map with no street names isn't very useful!).The room was... More

My daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights in early April. The location was great, near San Marco square. Our room although a bit dated, was clean, however it was on the first floor facing the main thoroughfare for getting down the street so it was noisy. Breakfast was good, with ample variety. The reason I cannot rate them... More

Dear Guest, please accept my sincerest apologies for the inconvenience caused. Unfortunately there was a misunderstanding between our concierge and the Taxi Company. I hope that you will give us the chance to stay with us again in order to prove you it was just an unfortunate episode. Best regards Stefano More

A very good hotel with a fantastic location less than 2 minutes from St Marks Square. The rooms were good and if you get one on the forth floor at the front you'll get a fantastic view of the Basilica and the Campanile thrown in. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

This is a lovely hotel with charming rooms and tasteful, antique decor. It is conveniently located near St. Mark's Square but is still remarkably quiet. The hotel has a surprisingly expansive breakfast and a helpful, attentive staff.

A very comfortable hotel quite near Piazza San Marco and not far from the Rialto Bridge. Staff is very helpful though they strive to keep up with the constant supply of food during breakfast at peak times. Rooms are comfortable but as can be expected in Venice, is a bit small. Cleaning leaves much to be desired. A piece of... More

The hotel is very conveniently located for St Marks Square and the surrounding attractions, though the maze of small streets and alleys in that area can be a bit confusing especially if you are arriving for the first time in the dark, so do your homework before arriving to know how to find it. The staff were all extremely friendly... More

Spent 3 nights in venice. Location couldn't be better, just 2 mins away from piazza san marco. Rooms and bathrooms are spotless, very good breakfast and hotel staff courteous and helpful. The courtesy boat ride to Murano is a definite plus. Thank you for making our stay in venice so special and keep up the good work.

Three blocks away from Plaza San Marco, and 5 min away from Ponte de Rialto, best location in Venezia! Sundays are a bit noisy because of every hour bells call, but it is the same in all venize. Ask for room in the 4th. floor, it's been renovated a few years ago and rooms are bigger. Goooood breakfast! Enjoy!!

We are a family of six so we stayed in two triples for two nights. The location was great – just 1 to 2 minute walk from the Piazza San Marco. Plus there were many restaurants within a few step walk of the hotel. The staff was exceptionally pleasant, nice, and very helpful. The rooms were quite large for what... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
