I booked this hotel on Priceline using the Name Your Own Price tool (as I often do). I understand that lodging in Venice is just generally expensIve - which is a whole separate issue since Venice itself is overpriced (definitely our least favorite of six cities we visited in Europe). But, even still, I was sorely disappointed with what we... More

We booked a very 'reasonable' short break by chance at this hotel and were surprised and delighted. Our only problem would have been finding it as we were given no directions . But our daughter was in Venice a couple of weeks earlier. Yes, the room was small, but very clean and well decorated, the bathroom was very well equipped... More

This place is a dump. If it were a cheap hostel it would be ok, but charging as a full-price hotel is unacceptable. The room is 4 ft wider than a double bed, and about that longer. The place smells of age and mold and stale cigarettes. It's location is great, just behind Piazza San Marco. If you can get... More

The location was good, nice breakfast. However, the counter admin staff are not friendly. Near to San Marco Piazza, one of their famous attraction. Amazing night view at the piazza. Close to the beach.

We checked in via another hotel which was situated very close to the Ambassador. We knew rooms would be small so we opted for a triple room expecting more space, we didn't get it! The room was clean but as expected in old places, quite small. You have breakfast in the sister hotel, a minute down from the Ambassador. What this... More

This hotel is part of a chain and you can't check in at the hotel. They don't tell you until you get there. Then the sign on the door sends you in one direction but the staff then sends you in a different direction (after making you wait while three people stand around and one person gives directions to another... We noted all the negative comments, but for my part, cannot complain. Firstly, yes, you do have to ring a bell for access, but a very nice man answered and immediately came round and took me to the other hotel round the corner. We had booked a room for 3,but was shown a twin room. There had apparently been an... More

Start of by saying that the hotel is located at an amazing location! Right on the San Marco piazza. However this does mean that you have to walk about 15 min to find a not completely overpriced restraint for dinner - personally we love a nice walk before and after dinner. We were upgraded to the room on the top... More

My husband and i just spent 4 nights here. There were some definite pros and cons to this hotel. Pros: AC works great, large king bed, clean, fresh towels daily, free wifi, wonderful breakfast that was included, Cons: old and needs updating, our bathroom was not in the room!!!! It was private (thank God) but was located just down the... More

First it should be acknowledged that there is a great range in what is considered a 3-star in Venice by North American standards BUT this in no uncertain terms was barely a 2-star. Why? 1) lets start with the bait-and-switch tactic of the owners. They own this hotel and another 3 star next door the Best Western Albergo San Marco.... More
